The land that now provides a home to Quarry Golf Course was formerly the abandoned Alamo Cement plant. Keith Foster converted this unique location into a challenging layout with a links-style front nine and a back nine that plays entirely through an abandoned rock quarry with walls over a 100 feet tall on three sides. The first half of the golf course features plays through open fields of rolling hills with native grasses and a near absence of trees. Creeks and streams come into play on six holes of the front nine. The quarry pit on the back nine is truly the most unique feature on the golf course. Quarry Golf Course's most dramatic hole is the 17th, which requires a tee shot over a deep ravine that is framed by a 40-foot waterfall.

Quarry Delivers

The Quarry always delivers a great round of golf. Friendly service, amazing bar and atmosphere from the patio restaurant, and the golf is an experience like no other inside the Quarry walls. Greens and bunkers were in good shape. No overseed so the fairways remain dormant but will be nice in a few months. GPS system works great on the carts according to my playing partners. I walked the whole 18 and despite a few hills it is walkable, although a few cut through paths from greens through the fescue to the next tees would help instead of having to walk around. Overall, a must play unique experience that you’ll be happy to enjoy.

Good Track

Almost two different courses. The front is an every day links style course and the back is actually in the quarry. Back is much more unique and fun. Greens were rolling slow but overall a good course.

Great course and great service

Had an exceptional time at the quarry only down side was that the cart girl that started in the afternoon ( mind you the morning morning staff was amazing ) we told her we were good on 10 and when she came back around she just kept driving ignoring us. My group was drinkers but we had just bought 2 6 packs on 6. Was a little thrown off.

High expectations surpassed

Their website talks a big game and I've been burned before but this was an amazing course and I was not disappointed. Quite the opposite. As far as I'm concerned this is a must play for San Antonio. There is some neighborhood noise like traffic or maybe an airplane but not much and the course is so stunning and challenging that it's easy to get lost on the course. I'm very grateful to have experienced golf on this course.

A new favorite!

Instantly a new favorite. The front nine is getable while the back nine has a totally different feel. Really, a very interesting course layout. I left this course already wanting to play it again!

The grill/restaurant seemed really cool with great places to sit and look out over the course. I planned to grab food during the turn, but the restaurant closed at 2, so that was a bummer. Premade sandwich was ok, but items on the menu all looked good.
