The land that now provides a home to Quarry Golf Course was formerly the abandoned Alamo Cement plant. Keith Foster converted this unique location into a challenging layout with a links-style front nine and a back nine that plays entirely through an abandoned rock quarry with walls over a 100 feet tall on three sides. The first half of the golf course features plays through open fields of rolling hills with native grasses and a near absence of trees. Creeks and streams come into play on six holes of the front nine. The quarry pit on the back nine is truly the most unique feature on the golf course. Quarry Golf Course's most dramatic hole is the 17th, which requires a tee shot over a deep ravine that is framed by a 40-foot waterfall.

Great layout

The course has two very different 9's which make it a blast to play. All of the golf carts have GPS and bluetooth if you want to listen to music. I believe the GPS speeds things up quite a bit. Friendly staff as well. Only down fall was the greens.

Good golf day

Starter was very good. Fairways, bunkers, and tee boxes were good. Greens were hairy, but could be due to healing from a recent verticut and airification in the past 30-40 days. I could tell the greens could be smooth and fast. Good place to play and easy to get to. Cost to play was $30-40 too high because of the greens, but next time I have the opportunity, I will play here again.

paradise in the Quarry

The staff was very friendly. The marshal thoughtfully moved me ahead of a foursome. The quarry itself is unique and gorgeous. Playing from the champions' tees, the back nine (which we played first) in the quarry itself plays fairly long. But then the front nine plays much shorter. The greens had been punched but played very true. Fairways are great, sometimes narrow and the rough is very long in places. I drove 70 miles to get here and can't wait to go back.

Hot Deals = No range balls...

Nice course. Disappointed to see that if you book a Hot Deal, the rate does NOT include a bag of range balls.. There are about 20 range balls in a small mesh bag. How much goodwill would the club receive by treating Hot Deal customers the same way they treat regular customers? Apparently it’s not worth much to the club. Disappointing. But still a nice layout, centrally located in the city.

Great layout. Worth the price.

Greens were recently perf’d and sanded. As such, a bit shaggy, but still putted well., Fairways were tightly mowed. A nice tract. Enjoy.

Quarry is a fine course, in very nice shape. The nine holes inside the Quarry is the longer of the two nines, and definitely offers good challenge on a number of holes. Worth playing.
