The land that now provides a home to Quarry Golf Course was formerly the abandoned Alamo Cement plant. Keith Foster converted this unique location into a challenging layout with a links-style front nine and a back nine that plays entirely through an abandoned rock quarry with walls over a 100 feet tall on three sides. The first half of the golf course features plays through open fields of rolling hills with native grasses and a near absence of trees. Creeks and streams come into play on six holes of the front nine. The quarry pit on the back nine is truly the most unique feature on the golf course. Quarry Golf Course's most dramatic hole is the 17th, which requires a tee shot over a deep ravine that is framed by a 40-foot waterfall.

New Precious Gem found in San Antonio!

What a concept and what a course! My golfing buddy and I travel the world playing courses with our families. We were staying in the area at La Cantera resort of which we played both of those courses also, The Resort and The Palmer and I must say that Quarry rivaled both of those.

To take an old rock Quarry that is in a big hole and create such a beauty is amazing. The back nine is spectacular and rivals courses all around the world. It was in fantastic shape, the greens were fast and true and the fairways were well manicured.

This is a must go if you are traveling to San Antonio. Take advantage and enjoy!!!

This is by far my favorite course in San Antonio. Greens roll true, staff is always upbeat and friendly, and the layout is tough but fair. Back 9, has some long par 4s that will test your skill. This course is not to be missed!

A must if you’re in the area

Wow. The back 9 holes in the quarry are absolutely mesmerizing. Greens rolled really well, especially for the heat. Front 9 is good but not nearly as special, but very great track and will definitely be back.

Beverage cart was disappointing on Front 9

We started off on #10 saw the saw the cart girl once then when we started off on #1 to play the back 9 didn’t see the other girl until hole number 7 when we were finishing it. Just disappointing because it was 100 degrees outside.

So Much Fun!!

I loved the layout and conditions! Make sure to keep the ball straight, as you will lose your ball in the high stuff. The staff was incredibly courteous too. I can’t wait to come back!

LOVE IT!

Hadn't played here in years, but course still in fantastic shape. Swapped 9's on us, so start on #10, inside the quarry part, 4:00pm tee time, extremely HOT. Only negative, is the time you play and time of year! Not much breeze in the quarry part (back 9), but extremely fun to play! I'd play here every week if I could. Retirement just a couple years a way...looking forward to that, and this golf course!

100 Degree Temps and You Would Never Know

The Quarry was in immaculate conditions for the Texas summer. Just be prepared for a lack of shade because this links style track has no trees. The back nine is the most fun, most beautiful, and most unique nine holes of golf you can find in Texas.
