About
Silverhorn Golf Club of Texas, located only 15 minutes from San Antonio's Riverwalk, has quickly gained a reputation as being some of the best golf in Texas. The layout covers 262 scenic acres of rolling hills covered in mature oaks and cedar trees. The challenging golf course features tree-lined fairways and carefully contoured greens. There are also lakes and creeks, both dry and wet, coming into play throughout the golf course. The front nine's signature hole is the par-5 sixth, which has 20 acres of water bordering the entire left side, while the back nine's signature is the par-4 15th, which is considered the toughest hole on the golf course. This 446-yard hole features an elevated green that is guarded by a large bunker on the left and two creeks crossing the fairway.

Great course, slow play
Some fairways are narrow and unlevel rendering a good tee shot in trouble. Fantastic course, not for learners.
Fun challenging course
Love this course for the consistently good/great course conditions, the challenging layout that tests your complete game, the great deals, wildlife, top tracer, etc. so I’m still gonna give it 5 stars...but the past 3 times I’ve played here, the pace of play has been pretty awful. I get great deals so I don’t complain, but it’s definitely an issue brought up amongst people I get paired up with. Teeing off 15 minutes after a girls jv HS tournament probably isn’t too wise. Still, great course overall though. You’re either gonna love it or hate it.

Very slow play
Back 9 was a thirty minute wait between shots and no marshal on course to make people play faster. If I play 80 dollars for a round no I expect at least a steady pace of play

Great course
This is a great course. Not the easiest course but whovwant wasy courses its a great challenge. The staff is very friendly and helpful. And most importantly the course is in great shape. Cannot wait to play another round at silverhorn.

Pretty shameless that Silverhorn hasn’t brought back senior rates since CoVid hit. Then again what would you expect from CBIGG Management since they’re owned by the Chinese.

This was the worst!
After we arrived at the course we decided to have lunch at the 19th hole. I handed the cashier my money but instead of him handing my change back to me he laid it on the counter. Then when the order was ready he made us come to the counter to pick up our order but brought the order for the white customers to their table. This was another attempt at racism’ that people of color have had to endure for years. I’ll ask, what’s so wrong about treating people equally? As a result we will never play this course again. You’ll take our money but won’t give us respect.

Jet lag??
Flew into San Antonio at midnight and had a noontime tee time. Course was much tighter than I was anticipating. Didn’t help that felt rushed with a group right behind us waiting but we were waiting on group in front of us starting on the 2nd hole. They were complaining they were waiting on group in front of them but watched them multiple times hit 2 or 3 tee shots because they didn’t like their first one. No marshals. Group behind us gave up after 13. Clubhouse staff super friendly.

Very nice course!
Front nine a little more player friendly in terms of wider fairways but the back nine is tighter, a little shorter. Overall, a great layout and in great shape for early Spring!

Time to bring back Scorecards
I love Silverhorn. It’s hard but fair. I’m a bit disheartened by the fact that they haven’t had the USGA out to rerate their course. Because of this, the course isn’t even visible on the GHIN app.
Also, please bring the paper scorecards back. The app is fine but it’s cumbersome. I haven’t met anyone that prefers keeping their foursomes score on the app over a scorecard.
Other than that, I love the course and love the staff!

A Great San Antonio Course
Fairways in Excellent condition, considering the February freeze. Many other courses around town still have dead grass in the fairways, but not here. Great work by the staff to maintain the fairways and greens. Greens were very challenging - fast. This is an overall great course, some very challenging holes.

Pleasantly Surprised
I’d read all the reviews about how a lot the pace of play is, maybe we just got lucky. Never waited on a tee box and had nobody within 2 holes behind us.
The course was in pretty good shape for winterish conditions, greens were excellent. Staff was friendly and really helpful. Range and practice area were well taken care of.
