About
Silverhorn Golf Club of Texas, located only 15 minutes from San Antonio's Riverwalk, has quickly gained a reputation as being some of the best golf in Texas. The layout covers 262 scenic acres of rolling hills covered in mature oaks and cedar trees. The challenging golf course features tree-lined fairways and carefully contoured greens. There are also lakes and creeks, both dry and wet, coming into play throughout the golf course. The front nine's signature hole is the par-5 sixth, which has 20 acres of water bordering the entire left side, while the back nine's signature is the par-4 15th, which is considered the toughest hole on the golf course. This 446-yard hole features an elevated green that is guarded by a large bunker on the left and two creeks crossing the fairway.

Silverhorn Super Slow
Although I love the rate, the course, & the staff is always friendly & accomodating, you better plan to spend at least 5 hours or more per round when it is crowded.

Slow
This is the worst experience I had had at Silverhorn. The condition of the course is good but pace if play, today, was unbearable. Almost 5 hours for a 3 some. I'll be back but not much more if it's this slow

Cancellation
I cancelled with both the app and the pro shop itself because of the weather and they told me I would be refunded. How long will that take? Thank you for your time.
A Must Play Course in San Antonio
The friendliness of the staff, the quality of the course and it playing condition, and the abundance of wildlife make this a pleasurable way to enjoy several hours of sport and comraderie. SilverhornGC is certainly one of the very best courses in all the San Antonio area.
Seemed like a lot of work going on most of the holes, lots of muddy areas,
It appears the coarse needs improvements, a lot of areas that had mud and I did not like to see sanicans out on a coarse specially paying more than $40 bucks. I payed less at “maunies” that where in much better shape. We had.several foursomes in front of us (twosome) a threesome behind us kept hitting into us, I saw no marshal, so we just pretend they where not there. I will not play there again.

Nice course, but...
PACE OF PLAY WILL MAKE YOU WISH YOU STAYED HOME. There is no starter. There are no course marshals. Any complaints or suggestions to management about speeding up pace of play fall on deaf (and rude) ears. Their solution is to initiate a stated 4 1/2 hour pace of play policy. Normally this would seem reasonable, except for the fact that this course can easily be played in less than that by an average, middle handicap foursome. This leads to what happened this morning, where a good ol' boy foursome had FOUR groups stacked up behind then on the back nine. When this was finally pointed out to them, their response was "Too bad, we're within the time limit." So the policy, while well intentioned, only serves to encourage slow play and rude behavior.
So typical of management at Silverhorn. Your response to my comment is identical to the response provided to bennett306, several posts above mine. In fact, they all look like "boiler plate" responses. Why do you people even bother pretending you care about your customers? I'm going to find out who YOUR bosses are, see what they think about your social media presence.

Pace of play
Every thing was great except for twosome in front of us. We made a mistake and let them start ahead of us because they
Looked like long hitters. Wrong. Slow and many practice swings. Bummer. All else was great and will return.

Winter at Silverhorn
Even in winter, albeit a Texas winter, the course was in excellent shape, notably the greens. The course Wass friendly, and others who played ahead of us were polite. This was a pleasant golf experience. I did observe that the San Antonio Golf Trail carts now have a GPS that indicates the distance to the hole. But, since Silverhorn has not upgraded, we went back to our own 'dead-reckoning skills, and it was enjoyable nonetheless.
I recommend Silverhorn to all.

Love - Hate
Great course, close to the house. I enjoy the course but find it a bit challenging there-in the love/hate title. You’ll need to use most of the clubs in your bag, you are rewarded for good shots and course positioning. They don’t have restrooms around the course so it makes it tough when you’re playing with ladies. I’ll be back

Need a marshal
No complaints with the course but the pace of play was really slow. Hard to believe they didn't have a marshal to monitor the pace of play. There were groups who didn't know what they were doing. Some players who were looking for their lost golf ball for way longer than 5 minutes. One group would get on the tee box and stand there and talk before hitting. The group in front of them would be finishing the hole before they would even tee off. Many groups (including us) ended up quitting because it was too slow.
Always Friendly, Always a Pleasure
Golf course architect speaks volumes at Silverhorn. Generous fairways entice strategically placed shots to steer clear of the tree-eating golf balls. Plenty of challenges for any level golfer. Staff is always welcoming, super friendly. Even the cart lady is personable. Will come back!
Great course
Staff very friendly, turf always in good condition, however will be nice for the golf carts to have GPS to track distances
Nice course!
Unfortunately it rained just before our tee time for about an hour so we got a late start. But the good news is the course drained very well so we were still able to get off. Staff was very friendly.
Beautiful course with lots of wildlife. Can't wait to give it another shot next time I'm in San Antonio.
