SilverHorn Golf Club of Texas
About
Silverhorn Golf Club of Texas, located only 15 minutes from San Antonio's Riverwalk, has quickly gained a reputation as being some of the best golf in Texas. The layout covers 262 scenic acres of rolling hills covered in mature oaks and cedar trees. The challenging golf course features tree-lined fairways and carefully contoured greens. There are also lakes and creeks, both dry and wet, coming into play throughout the golf course. The front nine's signature hole is the par-5 sixth, which has 20 acres of water bordering the entire left side, while the back nine's signature is the par-4 15th, which is considered the toughest hole on the golf course. This 446-yard hole features an elevated green that is guarded by a large bunker on the left and two creeks crossing the fairway.

Outstanding golf course
Excellent ousting. Golf course is in great shape. Staffs are courteous and friendly. Definitely will be back.
Challenging
Love this course.its like two courses in one, open front nine, tight back nine. Course is always in great shape except on airation week.then the greens suck.but what you gonna do huh.
Fun new experience
Live down the way from this course. Have always heard good things. Course is in pretty good condition except for greens which have just been aerated and sanded.
Only issue we ran into this morning was the course management putting a group of 5 out before 8am. Slowed us down significantly.
Narrowness
Silverhorn can be described with one word "narrow" Course conditions on the day of play were very good. Everything had been mowed and looked aesthetically very nice. Bunkers were all well sanded. The greens showed little signs of play despite the amount of rounds they receive. They were average speed, but rolled true. The course layout was simply narrow. I felt like many holes had the same type of features. If you are looking for width, this is not the place to search. Trees sometimes blocked on shots in the fairways that were already narrow themselves. The amenities of the course were quite nice. The clubhouse was very clean and stocked well. A nice driving range awaits anyone that wants to warm up before playing along with a very nice practice putting green. All in all, a solid 3-4 star course with above average playing conditions hampered by the old school architecture of narrow, tree-lined fairways.
Silverhorn
Pace of play was great course conditions were excellent green were excellent and finally a golf course with sand in the bunkers.
Great shape
Course in great shape. No Marshall and played behind a foursome entire back nine as a twosome and didn’t let us play thru? Waited on every hole.
Exceptional course
Course in great condition from tees to green. Challenging, tight but very fair. My top pick in the area for the money and overall value
Good shape considering dry conditions
Course is challenging but fair. Fairways are tight on some holes but all are in great shape. The only draw back is greens were the slowest I have maybe ever played. I believe they were spayed with fertilizer and rolled but not mowed.
Silverhorn
Very good course condition, wonderful people with smiles, beverage cart lady timely and friendly with plenty of product. What's not to like?
Don't let the yardage fool you.
This is not the longest track but there are plenty of challenges here. First play...studying course to get ready for tournament. Tight in spots, open in spots. Bring you best if you want to score. Water does come into play when you least expect it, particularly if you have the occasional big slice or hook when the sphincter gets a little tight. Course in great shape. Deer abound and there are black squirrels.
The course is in great shape!
Challenging course, bring your A game. Staff alway friendly and helpful.
Nice course
Played with a nice rate from Golf Now. Husband and I were placed with a golfer of significantly higher ability than us. Justin was a very nice guy and was helpful to us as he had experience playing the course.
The course was in excellent shape, particularly for the lack of rain the area had had. But, the course got quite the downpour as we were still playing. We hung around and were able to finish our round, albeit a little soggy when we were done. We made sure to go cart-path only for our final few holes so as not to cause any issues on the course.
The beer cart girl was friendly and around enough to keep us supplied. We weren't thrilled with the beer prices, but they were comparable to other courses we have played.
We were very happy with our time at Silverhorn. The pro-shop was friendly and we were not made to feel out of place. We recommend this beautiful course to anyone.
Slow and disorganized
For the money no issues. However nothing has changed at this course. Five plus hour round is the norm. Never saw a Marshall entire day. Club staff is great.
Great Course foe the price
Great course for the pirce, the staff is really friendly and helpful. Water coolers are all over the course which is awesome foe those hot SA days. The fairways are great and greens are just as good.
Great value
Enjoyed our round. Course was in good shape. Carts area little old. Good experience.
Course Conditions
Overall course in great shape, greens running true but a little slower than normal
