Frost greens
A nice course with some great views but disapointed to be playing on frost greens when the sun had been shinning all morning and the green keeper wouldnt come out to check them again
Temporary greens
Booked what thought was good value hot deal
All of course on temporary greens, keepers said it was because of frost conditions. It was 11.38 tee time. Totally frost free.
If I ad known wouldn't have bothered.
New to me
Challenging course lots of water hazards- shame there was also a lot of standing water as wel, no wonder it's nickname is Floodsbury wouldn't want to play any later in the year!
Chaos management of Tee Times
Dudsbury is an excellent course facilities my issue on Wednesday was with regard to the bad management of the tee off times A uni match between Bournemouth and Hereford was running late which delayed my tee time by 40 mins which had they then moved on with normal speed on play would have been ok but the 4 x4ball matches were very very slow and took forever to complete a hole we walked off the course on the 9 th hole 3hours later it was not worth trying to carry on .Other groups were trying to contact the club house from on the course but nothing was done to help the situation what a waste of money leaves a bad taste for any future rounds. Pity the course looked a good challenge
Windy round
Course was in excellent condition hurricane winds made the round exciting but it was our first time to play course but it will not be our last a good time was had by all

Great course
One of the best in Dorset. Great condition throughout. Good value for money. Some beautiful holes.
Paid £18 + £1 booking fee, (why is that added to every green fee, not just one), with the hot deal package that was great value. Course in good condition apart from many bunkers full of water after recent heavy rain, but greens were surprisingly quick. Excellent course, pace of play determined by the two of us who walked it in 3 hours and not affected by anyone else in front or behind.
Slow day
This is one of my favourite Dorset courses to play. A gorgeous, challenging 18. You have to carefully judge your distances off the tee with streams and ditches running throughout the course. Unfortunately, we got stuck behind 4 four balls and a round that would usually take us 3hours 30 took nearly 5. Luckily it was a beautiful day.
Dudsbury - Excellent
Dudsbury is a beautiful course. The fairways & greens were in excellent condition.
I booked a hot deal for £18, this was fantastic value for money, normal afternoon green fee is £25 but would have happily paid this.
Staff helpful & friendly.
Pace of play was slow but this was not course's fault! It is a challenging course so you need to be a fair standard. Unfortunately the 3 ball in front of us were not & held us up.
Overall though first class setting, course & clubhouse
Great day.
I have visited Dudsbury a few times in the past for drinks and food but this was my first round of golf. The staff member in the golf shop was friendly and helpful, made me feel welcome and wished me luck on my round.
It was a quiet Tuesday afternoon and I had a free hole in front of me and plenty room behind me - plenty of freedom to enjoy the course.
The fairways were well groomed and a joy to play from; the greens were faster than I was used to but quickly adapted to them thanks to the wonderful condition.
Although hilly in places this added to the challenge and not steep enough to make me breathless.
I thoroughly enjoyed my golfing experience from start to finish and would recommend anyone looking for a course should definitely give Dudsbury a call.
Tommy.
Nice Course, Slow Players
Great condition but the pace of play was the slowest I have ever experienced.
4 ball with friends
Great course.in great condition.difficult on a windy day.
Dudsbury - good course but very slow pace
It's a good course but there was a society day going on and it took us (a 2 ball) over 4 and half hours to get round as we were waiting at each hole for players to finish . Just seemed to be all stacked up in front and a few holes where we caught up with the 4 ball in front and then the 4 ball in front of them !
Fantastic Dudsbury
A very warm welcome at the reception from a friendly member of staff. This was followed by a game of golf on what is surely one of the best courses in the country, in terms of lay out and condition. I would recommend this to any person playing the game.
Great back 9
Front 9 fairly average with a couple of solid holes but then the standard of layout really picked up on the back 9. Would certainly recommend for money. Fairly generous fairways so you don't lose many balls but great for a nice casual game of golf.
First class course but quite expensive
Excellent course in excellent condition just a pity that it is so expensive notably for a buggie
Being a championship course I was concerned that the course might be too unforgiving. I found however that the fairways were mainly quite wide and open and it was a fair test in a delightful parkland location. The greens were in excellent condition and the holes were very well cut, unfortunately I didn't take advantage by holing any long ones !
We got around the course in 4 hours and had no hold ups at all.
It is definitely a course I would like to play again.
Poor Procedure
I booked a game via Teeofftimes website.
You are given a precise tee off time which is initially booked and then you are advised that the tee off time has been confirmed by the golf club to Teeofftimes.
Armed with my booked and paid for tee off time I arrived at the club 30 minutes before my allotted tee time.
Was advised the golf club operates a ' ball in the chute policy' I.e. When you and your playing partners arrive, then go to the 1st tee and put your ball in the chute provided. If there are other balls in the chute then you can tee off when your ball becomes at the head of the queue.
When I arrived 30 minutes before tee off, I looked at the chute and there were no balls in there. According to the rules you can only put a ball in the chute when your playing partner(s) have arrived.
My golf partner arrived 15 minutes before our alloted tee off time. I went to put a ball in the chute and there were THREE balls now in there!
The result of this was that we eventually teed off 30 minutes after our pre booked and paid for allocated tee time. Since we are now in winter, this meant we played the last 2 holes in darkness, which clearly would never have happened if we had started at the pre booked time.
So why are Teeofftimes allowing pre bookings with a golf club operating the ' ball in the chute' method?
I think Teeofftimes need to look into this as more people will become frustrated and angry. I cannot blame the Golf Club for operating this system but I feel this should be pointed out by Teeofftimes when making the booking.
