This ISN'T a golf course.
By far the worst golf experience in Dorset.
100s of dogwalkers crisscrossing through the course, no awareness of where their dogs are. None on leads.
Dog poo everywhere. Dogwalkers hunting around with bags to fill with golf balls (3 stolen in 1 round).
Horrendous. If you love your golf, play anywhere else.
Good course
Friendly guy in the shop. Course was quiet with good pace of play . Dog walkers were everywhere but didn’t get in the way . Course was in good condition. Worth playing.
Nice course
It’s a decent course. The greens are well kept but it is also quite busy with people dog walking but that’s the only downside.
Good value for money and friendly pro shop
Good course with some interesting holes. It’s a public course so you get dogs and walkers but they didn’t slow things down too much. Good condition and facilities for a public course too. Really friendly pro shop staff as well.
Queen’s Park
Nice course to play. Slow pace of play as dog walkers don’t tend to move. Definitely worth a visit tho. Quite hilly so take a trolley
Queen’s Park ….🤔
Mmmmmmm used to play this council course years ago …Played the other day wow and what a change…Fairways not looked that well cut …Some of the longer holes been shortened why I not knows why …Greens could do with a lot of maintenance on then ..daisy’s and weeds growing on more than half of them …Not sure when the cup holes was last changed..couple cups was above the level of the greens…And the sand traps … Bournemouth got a beach try getting some sand in the bunkers ..Pro shop if u can call it that …Surely it’s down to BCP to sort out what was a lovely course once ..
Fantastic course layout
The course was very dry but the greens were perfect. The layout off the holes were varied and at their own. No flying balls of other players.
Typical council run course
The fairways weren't in the best condition, I know its hot but the condition of the fairways could be a lot better. Not unhappy but dont see it value for money when other courses at yhe same price are in a lot better condition. Typical council run course
Nice layout, but not well maintained and is also a public park
There were plenty of times where I had to yield to cyclists, dog walkers and genetic public. I also had some near misses with dog poop around the course.
Queen’s Park golf course
It’s a good test round Queen’s Park some lovely holes . Only negatives is the bunkers are awful state and all the public walking not really worried your waiting to play shot and take there time
Shame about some of the public
This is a lovely course that evolves from woodland inland links feel. May found the fairways a bit dry so it shortens the course and flatters shorter hitters. The bunkers need work as the sand is quite compacted. Biggest bugbear are inconsiderate walkers and dog walkers. We had a ball stolen by a dog and a woman who thought it ok to play dog tennis across the fairway we were trying to play, some walkers do make the effort to move, hide or jog out of strike range so not all bad. The women who were in the pros shop and bar could not have been friendlier. I would definitely play again but would book direct, an £8 golf now mark up is excessive and adds no value.
Queen Park on a sunny Saturday!
Played Queens Park for the second time this year, only getting back into golf after many years off, so a challenging course which I have always enjoyed due to tightness of holes and variety. The only down fall was lots of the general public out for walks and not keeping to the paths, quiet a few just wondering down the fairways and a few greens could do with some work to them as only a few were a bit patchy, but in general a great experience and I improved from my last round 😊.
A Great Old Established Course
I've always wanted to play Queen's Park, having lived in the local area all my life. It's a magnificent local amenity with mature trees, lovely views and a little bit of countryside in a built up residential area. Having played on a par 3 course for 6 months as a novoce since redescovering golf (lessons 25 years ago!) we finally felt we were just about ready for a more challenging course. The gentleman behind the counter was friendly and welcoming, reassuring us that it wasn't too busy and off we went. The hills were a challenge at times having only played at Solent Meads which is flat. We stopped for a break after the 11th and went back to the club house for a comfort break and refreshments. Back to the course afterwards and started back on the 15th hole and carried on from there to the 18th. We found the dog walkers mainly respectful to us and apart from one group the walkers ok too. We didn't do too bad for the first attempt on a big course and for a skilled golfer it must be a challenging and enjoyable course.
Summer golf
The course played well with the greens quite smooth..the fareways were very firm due to not much rain.. there is a nice bar for a drink afterwards.
Not good enough for the money
Queen’s Park is a challenging course and really its only appeal. The greens are in poor condition, flooded somehow in some places and the swathes of dog walkers really take the shine off playing there.
You can pay the same £25 green fee and play at Bulberry Woods, a considerably better kept course and no dog walkers.
Great layout. Shame the club doesn't have more money.
Queens Park is a great layout and years ago was a championship course however the club doesn't have a lot of money to keep it in really top condition. Some of the tees are quite old looking and the fairways and greens require more maintenance. I would recommend but you must be patient with dog walkers and the general public. Staff are always welcoming and helpful. I have enjoyed playing the course over a number of years.
A bit tired
Tight course that is feeling a bit tired. Grass thin everywhere. Poor temporary tees. Greens pretty good.
