Perfect golf
Absolutely great game of golf. Perfect day for a perfect game.
A must play
East Hornton Greenwood I found a very enjoyable golf course, some very interesting dog legs and par 3's.
It's testing but also very fun, I really recommend playing here....
Good course - needs to improve
Suffering from lack of attention during the lockdown. The club has lost its pro shop; tee mats in use and course slowly recovering from lack of use and maintenance in lockdown.
Staff and booking excellent pace of play was very slow due to an ignorant set of golfers ahead not the clubs fault.
Way too packed
Far too many people and not enough time between tee times, we were waiting in queues for 15-20 mins after 7 holes...
Nice course, will be better during summer months
So I live a short distance from the course and have been put off previously because of some reviews. The GREENWOOD course is a very nice course and for the most part was in very good condition.
It was on winter tees, which is never as good as off the grass and over the first few holes at the bottom of the course there is maintenance and a fair bit of GUR going on.
For first time playing the course I really enjoyed it. The whole course is on quite a big hill. This makes for some great multi levelled fairways. The greens were in good nick and challenging enough with pins cut quite close the edges of the greens. A lot of the longer holes have significant dog legs making it a case of plotting your way around meaning the driver game out less than usual.
All in all a lovely day despite a heavy wind and some sleet towards the end.
Playing off mats
Very disappointed, nothing wrong with tee boxes but we’re still playing off mats even speaking to group behind and in front of us who were members were baffled and quite angered. Had a good considering playing off them but even the mats need renewing for the price not worth it at all.
Very Good
Enjoyed this course, some picturesque holes towards the end. Very good greens
Why are you using mats?!
Can’t complain about the standard of the course, but the Mats!! They just annoy me especially whilst the tee boxes are in perfect condition!
Really nice set up
The course was great, it was boggy but that’s to be expected this time of year.
I paid for a full green fee we ugh GolfNow but when I arrived at the golf club I was informed that only 9 holes were open. Also due to the COVID restrictions it should’ve been strictly 2 balls only, it took us so long to get round because we were stuck behind 2 4 balls!!
Course was in terrible condition, doesn’t drain well so is like playing in a swamp , won’t be going back definitely not in winter
Bit boggy in places
Good to get out for a round on the Greenwood course. First few holes very boggy in places but generally improved once you got onto higher ground.
Would be concerned that part of the course will become unplayable pretty soon and with more wet weather...
Unplayable in Winter. Rip off.
I have played this course previously and thoroughly enjoyed it, however it has been left to perish. The course was in a terrible state (the weather was not ideal but should not result in a golf course sized bog). The least i would expect is the leaves to be removed from greens and fairways, this was not the case which led to losing balls that fell in the middle of the fairways. Bunkers were ponds and teeboxes were like something out of the trenches of WW1. If this is the situation, either close the course or charge a reduced rate! £27 is extortionate.
Excellent value.
Unfortunately it rained in the morning and the course was very wet. Good value though.
Good winter conditions
Upon arrival we were directed to a COVID-secure check in.
The free side bar was open and serving food as well.
Overall the course was in extremely good condition especially given the recent wet weather and general winter conditions.
The fairways were fairly firm and the greens were all firm and played reasonably true.
The tee boxes need a bit of TLC but impressed for the time of year.
Greenwood is a nice course well kept
The covid social distancing has been completely abandoned at east Horton we walked off after 3 hours to do 9 holes. Queues 7 deep at first tee when we came back to clubhouse, allowed to go to the bar for drinks it should be table service people sat everywhere no social distancing whatsoever all about profit. Tee times need to be 10 minutes apart like everywhere else not 6 minutes, with what’s going on in the world at the moment I found the whole experience shocking to be honest.
Love the course but wet for this time of the year!
Excellent value.
Excellent value on the Greenwood course. A better challenge than the Parkland corse. Greens had just been treated, but still ok.
