Played a round here during Easter holidays whilst my daughter had a netball event at nearby school all day.

Easy booking online. Nice layout of course with some testing holes on back 9 around the reservoir. It’s a good walk and undulating course. Definitely worth looking at card before playing as few hazards and dips to avoid when teeing off.

As I was playing on my own I expected to be held up. However,I was let through 3 times my members of the course who were absolutely fantastic, polite and cheery. - thanks gents !

Clubhouse is a new build and has great facilities. The course looks as though they are investing some money in it. There were signs of new steps and tended areas etc as the course is quite high and on edge of Pennines it’s was still a bit soft on fairways, but the greens where in pretty good nick given time of year.

Overall a positive day and would play again !

Enjoyed the course, lovely condition. Pro was helpful on arrival as were a couple of guys out on the course. I’m new to golf and looking to join somewhere, was considering Fairfield after this round then went for a drink in the clubhouse to sit out and enjoy the sun, to be greeted with a smart comment from someone sat in the bar that I still had my cap on whilst ordering a drink in the bar area. Guy is obviously a weirdo , so not the antiquated attitude I’m interested in, therefore have discounted joining this club.
