Course was in fabulous condition. Nice modern club house. Would play agian without hesitation.

Excellent course..middle/hard test of golf skills beginners would struggle on hear ...our 3 ball loved it ...

Played a round here during Easter holidays whilst my daughter had a netball event at nearby school all day.

Easy booking online. Nice layout of course with some testing holes on back 9 around the reservoir. It’s a good walk and undulating course. Definitely worth looking at card before playing as few hazards and dips to avoid when teeing off.

As I was playing on my own I expected to be held up. However,I was let through 3 times my members of the course who were absolutely fantastic, polite and cheery. - thanks gents !

Clubhouse is a new build and has great facilities. The course looks as though they are investing some money in it. There were signs of new steps and tended areas etc as the course is quite high and on edge of Pennines it’s was still a bit soft on fairways, but the greens where in pretty good nick given time of year.

Overall a positive day and would play again !

Enjoyed the course, lovely condition. Pro was helpful on arrival as were a couple of guys out on the course. I’m new to golf and looking to join somewhere, was considering Fairfield after this round then went for a drink in the clubhouse to sit out and enjoy the sun, to be greeted with a smart comment from someone sat in the bar that I still had my cap on whilst ordering a drink in the bar area. Guy is obviously a weirdo , so not the antiquated attitude I’m interested in, therefore have discounted joining this club.

Course was in terrible condition.. Much better courses in the area for this time of year.. However there's a few nice holes shame about the boggy fairways and extremely lumpy greens..

There are certain days when the sky is cloudless blue, the wind is just a gentle cooling breeze and you tee it up and thank God you are alive. Today was one of those days. The course was a dream to play, the greens in perfect nick and everyone we met was friendly and jovial. Me and my pal really enjoyed our visit (on a glorious Monday morning) and will be back to improve our decent scores soon. A hidden gem - one of the best in North West UK and we have played many.

Only downside, as always, is the people you encounter. Booked as a Hot Deal 2 Ball via the GolfNow website. On arrival reported to the Golf Shop. The tone of the Staff member who I dealt with was patronising, aggressive and absolutely insisted that we had to play as a 4 Ball with another 2 Ball pair who had also made a booking via the GolfNow website for the same Tee-off time, which we did.

There are ways and means of speaking of speaking to people in a professional and courteous manner. This was clearly not one of those occasions.
