Watch out for the Club Captain

Not the first time I have had issues with members here

Two of us turned up to play in wet conditions

I was wearing lightweight cargo trousers which I have worn at many courses with no issues...ever!

After the first nine I entered the clubhouse to order a sandwich and buy a few balls

I was faced with an arrogant confrontational guy telling me "Those are not proper golf trousers"

He attempted to stop me playing the second nine...no casual chat from this guy just in your face confrontational from the get go

While I understand there are dress codes ie no jeans, sleeveless tops etc in no way was I flouting these

It seems to be a sport here to harass non members with little reason

I wasn't having any of it...it was.provocation for no reason...little man little idea how to treat guests

It was as though he wanted his daily fix of confrontation and wanted to stop non members coming back!

Just be grateful for the income you idiot!

The rates you charge relative to much better courses locally you should be happy players even want to come

Will I try here again....maybe, maybe not!

MISSLEADING THIS IS A 9 HOLE COURSE!!

Booked to play here looking forward to a challenging 18 hole course to turn up and find it's Actually 9 holes that you play twice. I would never of booked had it stated this in the course notes or description. The course was disappointing.... On a few occasions we would miss a green with a wedge by no more than 5 yards to find the ball lost in thick Heather at the sides of the green...... Ridiculous...... and on top of that the staff were rude and very un welcoming.

AVOID THIS 9 HOLE COURSE AT ALL COST UR LOCAL MUNICIPLE WILL BE A BETTER CHALLANGE AND ALOT MORE FRIENDLY I'M SURE.

Yes it's a 9 hole course 2 sets of tees different yardage. As to your comment of thick Heather 5yards off of the green I can assure you their is NO Heather on my course, 2inch rough 15ft around the green then 4inch rough for a further 15ft. By Head Greenkeeper of Ferrybridge

Overall not a bad Course

The Course just needs time to grow maybe another 5 to 10 years or so will be a great little 9 holer.... The fairways are cut in well and the greens are true to rolling and approaching shots land well. Good to see ground workers as well.. The only downside is the rudeness of its so called bar staff and booking clerk mainly large homeless looking guy. Not easy booking online and then asking for anything..

Up & coming

The course is 18 month old so very open and forgiving with lots of young trees, in several years when the trees are up it will be a fantastic course. Bit tricky to find but very hospitable. An enjoyable round of golf.

Pity they couldn’t have made this an 18 hole course although I play quite a bit I have never been a member of a course but could quite easily join this course very friendly members. On my own joined a couple of members who were very friendly. One of the best 9 hole courses I have played. Will be playing again very soon.
