Course in great condition for this time of the year

Staff were helpful and pleasant. Good facilities.

Course was very busy but pace of play was good. Fellow golfer’s let me through so had very little waiting.

Was concerned about course set up as 1st hole was very close to 18th fairway and with the strong wind on the day people playing 18th were on the 1st fairway. But all players were aware of the conditions and used courtesy when on the wrong fairways.

Green, fairways and bunkers were good for this early in the season. Course was on the shorter side but greens with multiple contours and levels proved a good challenge.

Would play again as it was a nice walk around and not too hilly. Also price was very good.

Course play

Considering the weather we have had the course was in a very good condition, we were using fairway mats but this is one of the reasons the course was in food condition. The greens were excellent.

The staff are always friendly and helpful.

Nice flatish course but was a lot of standing water and really boggy walking between shots but that’s due to weather had a couple of groups in front slowing us down then a group behind us shouting for us to hurry up will try course again once it’s abit drier

Disappointed in the office

Play here regularly and always book through golf now

Sometimes people can’t make on the day

Previously if asked the office cancel the person and you get a refund to your card. The app won’t let you cancel within 24 hrs but the lady’s in the office normally sort

On this occasion I was sternly told “ nothing I can do you booked through golf now”. “ but normally you just cancel it off “. “Nothing I can do you didn’t book through our website “

The website for visitors guides you to golf now!

Was going to play there tomorrow but , despite loving the place normally I don’t feel like going and have booked elsewhere. The non playing person will not pay as told me the day before. Left a bad taste

Genuine value for money

Scalm Park is a charming, value for money 18-hole course set on the edge of Bishop Wood near Selby.

Whilst the course isn't manicured to the degree of the higher-priced courses, it is well worth the money you pay for itching the scratch of a classic round of golf. The greens are well maintained and in most cases in better condition than I've seen on courses 3 times the price.

The course layout is easy to follow and offers challenges for golfers of any ability.

The 9th hole brings you back towards the clubhouse where a conveniently placed halfway house is located. Signage can be found on the start of the 9th hole place your order for a hot sandwich ahead of time to avoid waiting and holding up the pace of play for the back-9.

Each 9 holes takes you on a walk out into Selby's rural landscape, which lends itself to the course's easy-walking terrain and bordered on part of he back-9 by a high speed train track to add an interesting back drop to both the 14th, 15th and 16th holes.

All in all, it's a great course and I recommend anyone to give it a go and you might just find yourself booking again soon afterwards.

This course is value for money

It’s a good little course for the money however the tee boxes are poor with some being so poor they play off winter tee mats instead.

Great!

For my first time playing a full 18 this was super fun! Hole 2 was a nightmare teeing off over the pond, it’s a great mix of flats and little hilly for a beginner just getting into golf it seemed perfect. Would recommend to anyone.

The staff were super friendly too!
