Very nice course & great layout

One or 2 greens were a bit poor but it’s early in the year so should get better

Really enjoyed playing at Gathurst gc for the first time, very early season so will probably look even better in the middle of summer, for the time of year and just come out of lockdown the tee blocks fairways and greens were very good, friendly pro who explained where everything was, will hopefully play here again in the middle of summer, recommend this course.

Overall enjoyable afternoon at Gathurst.

Very friendly staff both in the pro shop and the bar facilities later ...

Some areas to improve ... ...no hot water available to serve either tea or coffee ....sometime you just need a hot drink to warm up !

Course in fairly good condition - however greens do need cutting .

First time playing this course, nice layout shame about the weather though it was pretty bad, bit confused with the flag colours. Usually either one colour overall or one for the front 9 and different for the back 9, seemed to be mixed between white, red and blue. Would definitely go back in the spring.

Second visit here second early departure for slow play. Visitors slow play this time, last time lady members taking 5 hours a round and chatting on greens they’d finished on. Nice course but walked off after 2.5 hours on tenth. Just about unplayable due to recent rain. Playing off mats but tee boxes looked fine.

Thoroughly enjoyed it , Only downside was winter mats but can be expected after the weather we’ve had

what a great little golf course a mixture of holes and for the time of year and the recent weather very good will definitely return

Played this on a hot deal at 3pm. Loved the layout but unfortunately the greens had just been hollatined and so they were absolutely terrible. The practise green filled us with confidence but unfortunately the course greens were a different story. It’s been a cracking week of sun and in some places the course was still extremely soft, imagine this is a shocker to play in winter in a lot of areas. Overall good price and still enjoyed it but wouldn’t go back certainly any time soon / over winter.

This was the second time I have played this course. The layout is great and requires varying shots. Areas of the course are wet but there has been a lot of rain in recent weeks. Greens had recently been slit and this did affect the roll but we were warned of this on booking. Overall an enjoyable round.

Played today after a lot of rain. Unfortunately the fairways were really wet and the rough has not been able to be cut due to the rain. Fully understand the conditions being heavy but didn’t make the playing an easy experience. It’s still a really lovely challenging course and will play again in the future

Have played Gathurst many times before in Opens that is why I chose to bring my Partner, my daughter & her partner but I was disappointed ! The course was very wet & boggy and I know we have had a couple of days of rain ! Greens were very bobbly . Pro shop very helpful and covid measures adhered to .

Due to the recent amount of rainfall in the area, the course was slightly waterlogged in area but soon dried out quick enough.

Lovely parkland course with decent enough greens, only downside is quite a few holes have internal out of bounds.

Pro very good on arrival. The course is ok but the greens were very slow and the rough needed cutting.

The constant noise from the adjacent M6 on every hole was the main reason i would not recommend it

I think we played it on the wrong day , blazing hot , the course is quite tight but it's lots of up and downs - quite steep in parts , but i'd deffo play here again. the 19th hole was very nice , cold water , a beer and a nice baguette .

The pro shop employee was very welcoming and introduced me to the course.

It was a very hot day and by hole 5 I was asked to tuck my shirt into my shorts.....by one of the groundkeepers.

I felt it was a very traditional course for members and did not overtly welcome visitors playing on there own.

Gathurst is a lovely looking course with some wonderful view across the Douglas valley area, (a beautiful part of Lancashire) With some Panoramic views playing into the green at the foot of the course. Green are in superb true condition and the ice cool beer afterwards topped it all off!!
