Haigh Woodland Park - Balcarres Course

Good cause but full of dog walkers and ball pickers apart from that course is a good one to play

I have played this course before, a well laid out and good quality council/public course.

However it was very wet underfoot, had it been a private members course I suspect it would have been closed.

I am minded however I paid approximately £10 for the round. I will be more than happy to return but only after a dry spell.

In my opinion, any other course would have been closed. The course was a complete mud bath. Fell twice, slipped several times, completely covered in mud. Played 9 holes, walked off and asked for a refund, which we got without argument.

Enjoyable course with the dry weather helping the course conditions - known to be bad conditions in winter - overall would play again!

Overall the course is good for all abilities, can get busy and seen a few people just jumping on without paying which is annoying, some people don't respect the course but people with respect do their bit.

Always welcomed and like the title says its unbelievable value for money, few places could be improved but nothing too major

I booked to play mid morning only to arrive and find that a senior society were on that morning. Although I teed off 1 hour after there last I soon caught up and ended up waiting a long time for each shot, similarly others around me also said the same. It was a shame as no momentum was gained, lesson learned from me to check who is playing before I book.

The course was well maintained and greens in decent conditions.

Staff very friendly and helpful guiding me to the first tee. I will visit again but will check on if a society is playing near my preffered tee off time.

As long as you play during summer course is usually in good condition. Sometimes can be busy with ya day out golfers so can get bit slow at times.

Great value for money can't complain about anything enjoyed the round

A nice course, good layout with some challenging holes. The thing that lets it down is the greens, poor condition.

First time here, some really nice holes with a good layout.

Found I struggled on the greens somewhat but that’s more than likely my fault, not reading the greens or the pace very well.

Enjoyed our day out in the sunshine, but we were held up on every tee, just because the course was busy.

We will be back to try again soon enough.
