Nice
Nice welcome
Nice course
Nice challenge
Nice condition
Nothing memorable, just nice
Glen Gorse
Really nice course but a bit disappointed with conditions of the greens very poor. But in fairness it did look like they were working hard to rectify them
Very poor condition
Course was ok layout wise, fairways werent great, greens were shockingly bad, pace of play took almost 5hrs to play
Very Underwhelmed
For £35 I was expecting this course to be very well maintained, however from the moment of arrival everything was just old and not maintained.
The course conditions were the worst I have played, the greens were in a very poor state.
£35 Fee!!!!! Well worth it.
In the area on Business and due to a last minute opportunity booked this course through Golf Now.
It’s unlikely that I’ll play this course again just due to work circumstances but here is what we found.
Obviously due to our late booking we paid more than some of the green fees offered but I have to say it was worth every penny.
We play all around the country but I play mostly in the North West where we are very fortunate to have a ton of great courses.
I thoroughly enjoyed Glen Gorse and can I say in all honesty that it had some of the best green I’ve seen anywhere this year.
Immaculate.
Offers you a real opportunity to challenge your handicap and rewards good shots.
The rough, semi rough and fairways were very well kept and the overall course conditions reflect the large number of staff we saw working the course as we played.
We had a number of interactions with the lads working the greens, bunkers and fairways and to a man they were very friendly and polite and are a real credit to the club.
A course in fantastic condition you won’t be disappointed whatever fee you pay.
Superb weather excellent course.
The course itself was in superb condition the greens were excellent and give you a good chance when approaching the hole. The Course itself was tricky in places but many holes you gave you a good chance of achieving a par but you have to be careful not to be caught out.
impressive and established course , although weather was atrocious it looked like the course is well maintained .
friendly members and staff , hot food available in snack hut(12th hole)
plenty of distance markers , greens run true and consistent r
Hcp 9: course is playing lovely atm would recommend! Course is very well kept.
Zippy greens
Greens are zippy but overall a very good course. Enjoyed it. Although some just don’t understand the concept of trying to keep up with the group in front.
What an absolute mess
The course was absolutely shocking! Mowing the grass and leaving the cuttings everywhere, I couldn’t tell the difference between the fairway and the rough. The greens were being holed and then a tractor was throwing sand on but Just leaving it and not doing anything with it so every single green was unplayable. Spoke to the pro and his response was ‘oh well that’s what you get off tee times’. Should have booked via website it told you. However I checked the website the night before and nothing was mentioned. Shocking course...avoid it until they’ve sorted their issues out and hired some decent green keepers
First but not last
Played the course for the first time thought greens were in fantastic condition course was really well kept really enjoyed
Golf after a week of rain
The course had been closed the previous day and we expected it to be boggy and the course looking a bit of a mess but it was quite the opposite. The greens were amongst the best I have played on, fast and undulating. Fairways were mature, tight but looked great. I will definitely be back again.
Select Society golf day
As we arrived early we started in the club house with bacon rolls and coffee, service was excellent, staff and members we met were very friendly even offered advice about the course greens etc. Booked in at pro shop met the club pro and a member of his staff again very helpful nothing too much trouble, course in very good condition greens excellent and very quick all greens were the same level very often they vary around 18 holes pace of play very good no old ups and no pressure. Interesting testing course with good variety of holes to test anyones skills whatever level, very good day will definitely return at some point in the future
