Very poor
It’s the first time I’ve played the course in over ten years. I found the course to be in extremely poor condition. Many of the tees where like mud matches with no grass. The bunkers were in a poor state and there was a significant amount of litter around the course. Very poor effort indeed. I’ll not play there again.
Great course
First time playing here and the course was in great condition with the greens particularly receptive. I wa every impressed to be given a small booklet explaining the hole layouts and yardages.
Course played very well and there are some challenging holes and interesting layouts. The tee boxes need a bit of work but it didn’t stop our enjoyment.
A lovely hot day, and a bacon roll before we tee’d off and a pint at the end was super. Will definitely return.
Lovely views.
Mainly open fairways with well kept greens and the odd challenging hole. Good for all levels, with cracking views. Brilliant price as well! Will 100% be returning.
Snitty woman
Booked through golf now for a 1 ball late at night. When I got there I was told off and told I should ring if I want to do this and should be at least two people. They shouldn't be advertising these bookings if they don't want them. Ruined my first hole cause of it. Rest of the experience was fine and the course was in good nick.
3 ball
Really nice golf course, good variety of holes and elevations. Let down by bunkers which need work. Nevertheless a good afternoon golfing. Greens good also.
Enjoyed
Just our second time playing at The Grange. We have enjoyed both rounds and look forward to playing there again. The course and greens are in very good condition. Although the course isn’t the most challenging or tricky. It has some nice holes and great views. Altogether a good day’s golf.
Nice well looked after course. A bit worried about the approach road, but luckily not a sign of things to come. Some nice wide fairways to go at with decent greens. Bunkers looked very sad but not in use so fair enough on that. Some demon hills if you are walking. Overall good course.
A hidden gem
Lovely well kept course with some interesting holes. Amazing views as well
Needs more work
The pace of play was awful today.
3 ball in front were drinking cans of lager and hacking all over the place.
Taking phone calls and just no idea of course etiquette.
Following each other in to the woods for 5 minutes to look for one ball.
Walked off after 14 holes as we couldn’t be bothered waiting.
I’ve played this course quite a few times in the past and it has some interesting holes and nice views.
Some fairways are impossible to hold as they slope so much.
Green are in need of plenty of water.
The tee boxes need sorting.
Hardly any are level.
No distance yardage markers makes it harder wen you playing to an uphill green ... greens ok some of the tee areas arnt good other than that was ok
Well maintained course
Fairways and greens well looked after and maintained. Booked through GolfNow at a very good price so value for money was great. Would very much play again.
well satisfied
played the course on Friday, what a pleasant surprise ! after reading the revues i expected mediocre at best. The green keepers are doing a great job and the staff could not have bee more helpful.
A bit of a bossy `jobsworth.
I was told, by the Pro shop chap, to golf with another two players. I explained that I was still learning, and was a bad golfer. He said the rate is lower, because Golfnow need players to play as a group. This, if I was a better golfer, would not have been a concern, unfortunately, as I am still a `learner`, playing a round with two (friendly) golfers who were good golfers, was very embarrassing for me. The two men also said that they expected to play as a two ball.
Having booked other Golfnow promotions at other courses, I have never been made to join a group. dont go here with expectations of golfing alone, or as a two ball if you book through Golfnow. The fairways were overdue a cut.
Great views but in poor condition
All tees were extremely poor and work being carried out on lots of greens. No green was in a average state.
All bunkers were poor.
Great layout
This golf course is bang on,we played in heavy rain as pre-booked slightly sticky as you'd expect but still enjoyed the round can't wait to play in the summer when the course is in it's prime!
Obviously in only playing twice a year the circumstances we find ourselves in due to COVID 19 have passed this gentleman by. First of all i will concede that the front tees are very worn due to the extreme amount of traffic they have experienced since lockdown, it is however difficult to renovate them until the autumn when things slow down a little. the bunkers have all been classified as ground under repair and there are signs in the clubhouse informing everyone of this, under England golf guidance we are not allowed to put rakes in bunkers and therefore it is not possible to maintain them as we would like, we have 100 tonnes of sand waiting to go in to them but it is a pointless excersise until we are allowed to put rakes out on the course, With regard to litter once again guidlines dictate that we are unable to have bins out on the course and unfortunately not all golfers are willing to carry their rubbish around with them until they are able to deposit it in the bin when they finish their round making it very difficult to keep things as tidy as we would like. If you look at our other reviews since lockdown you will see that our customers who are playing more regularly and therefore are probably more use to the current situation rate the course very highly. The rest of the course greens, fairways are in surrounds etc are in excellent condition.
