Average, gone down hill.

This is the first time in about 12 months since playing the Grange. I must have played it 30 times.

Appreciate covid but the golf ahop was non existent, very bare indeed.

The course was ok, back to usual layout but there was litter everywhere, no bins at the tee boxes. Very messy on every tee. .

Greens were the best feature, all running quick and all the same.

Alot of the semi rough needs a cut, and the course needs a general tidy up. Bunkers full of stones too.

Shame as we were looking forward to it, i will come back but only if i can't get in anywhere else.

Great course

Second time playing this course. Really enjoyable to play even for a high handicap player. Greens and fairways in great condition, some tee offs didnt have much grass but didn’t effect us. Staff really friendly in the bar after too. We’ll definitely be playing here again.

Great Value

Played Grange Park yesterday for the first time, the two staff on duty on arrival were great and very friendly, pointed us in the direction of the practice green and even came out to tell us when we were the next group out. While I agree with some of the comments that the tee boxes weren’t brilliant the rest of the course was fantastic and the greens were very receptive and ran true, so the tees didn’t spoil any thing in my opinion, and to be fair I’ve played from a lot worse, and for a lot more money. I think the course has handled the bunker “situation” very well by just taking them out of play, on so many courses you are asked to take a free drop in the bunker and then “rake” it with your feet which makes most bunkers unplayable anyway! Would I recommend it? Without a doubt and for the price you really can not go wrong.

Great course layout & challenge

Our 2nd visit to the course in 12 months. Fantastic course layout and a good challenge for all abilities. The only downsides are the tee boxes - they are awful as there was hardly any grass, and the bunkers weren’t in play ( Covid excuses ). With regards to the bunkers just do what every other club has done - remove the rakes and ask the players to rake with their feet! Poor excuse for the bunkers not to be in play really. This course could easily be in the top 10 of Yorkshire if it was looked after properly and a little money was spent on it.

Very poor

It’s the first time I’ve played the course in over ten years. I found the course to be in extremely poor condition. Many of the tees where like mud matches with no grass. The bunkers were in a poor state and there was a significant amount of litter around the course. Very poor effort indeed. I’ll not play there again.

Obviously in only playing twice a year the circumstances we find ourselves in due to COVID 19 have passed this gentleman by. First of all i will concede that the front tees are very worn due to the extreme amount of traffic they have experienced since lockdown, it is however difficult to renovate them until the autumn when things slow down a little. the bunkers have all been classified as ground under repair and there are signs in the clubhouse informing everyone of this, under England golf guidance we are not allowed to put rakes in bunkers and therefore it is not possible to maintain them as we would like, we have 100 tonnes of sand waiting to go in to them but it is a pointless excersise until we are allowed to put rakes out on the course, With regard to litter once again guidlines dictate that we are unable to have bins out on the course and unfortunately not all golfers are willing to carry their rubbish around with them until they are able to deposit it in the bin when they finish their round making it very difficult to keep things as tidy as we would like. If you look at our other reviews since lockdown you will see that our customers who are playing more regularly and therefore are probably more use to the current situation rate the course very highly. The rest of the course greens, fairways are in surrounds etc are in excellent condition.

Great course

First time playing here and the course was in great condition with the greens particularly receptive. I wa every impressed to be given a small booklet explaining the hole layouts and yardages.

Course played very well and there are some challenging holes and interesting layouts. The tee boxes need a bit of work but it didn’t stop our enjoyment.

A lovely hot day, and a bacon roll before we tee’d off and a pint at the end was super. Will definitely return.

Lovely views.

Mainly open fairways with well kept greens and the odd challenging hole. Good for all levels, with cracking views. Brilliant price as well! Will 100% be returning.

Snitty woman

Booked through golf now for a 1 ball late at night. When I got there I was told off and told I should ring if I want to do this and should be at least two people. They shouldn't be advertising these bookings if they don't want them. Ruined my first hole cause of it. Rest of the experience was fine and the course was in good nick.

Really nice golf course, good variety of holes and elevations. Let down by bunkers which need work. Nevertheless a good afternoon golfing. Greens good also.

Enjoyed

Just our second time playing at The Grange. We have enjoyed both rounds and look forward to playing there again. The course and greens are in very good condition. Although the course isn’t the most challenging or tricky. It has some nice holes and great views. Altogether a good day’s golf.

Nice well looked after course. A bit worried about the approach road, but luckily not a sign of things to come. Some nice wide fairways to go at with decent greens. Bunkers looked very sad but not in use so fair enough on that. Some demon hills if you are walking. Overall good course.
