Nice and easy does it
I’m not a regular golfer but came up to Sheffield for the snooker and made a weekend of it. Lovely course not to difficult and played to my handicap. Great facilities, bar was open with ousting drinking area, food was good too.
Pleasant course but overbooked
Nice course but far too many people playing. I know it's a bank holiday but there really isn't an excuse - charge more and book fewer groups on. I would play there again, the course is fine and the facilities are good, but I wouldn't do a weekend or holiday period again.
Perfect Days Golf
Fairways and Greens in great condition, very well looked after - very hard and very quick though! Only downside of the course is the 2nd fairway runs along the driving range...keep your eyes open for rangeballs!
on par
excellent day out ,good golf , course in good condition, great to meet friends , covid friendly, nice beer.
Worth the travel from Sheffield
So impressed with the condition of the course after lockdown. The fairways and the greens were in excellent condition throughout. It’s a lovely course as it’s not to hilly and so peaceful as it’s away from the traffic. Definitely like coming here and looking forward to having a pint after when normal life resumes.
Credit to all the staff during these difficult times. Keep up the good work !
Really enjoyed my first round here. 8 of us attended with handicaps ranging from 10 to 40. Everyone enjoyed the day, the course is good for golfers of all abilities, open enough should you be wayward off the tee but some tight pin positions on some smallish greens. The wind helped make it more of a challenge as well and pleasantly surprised with the courses condition to say it was early April and I imagine it wouldn't have had a huge amount of greenstaff working on it due to covid restrictions. Will definitely visit again as excellent value for money
Great Value
For £11 per player including the booking fee what’s not to like!? It’s not the most challenging course, plenty of short par 4’s and accessible par 5’s presenting birdie chances and the par 3’s are not overly challenging. The course conditions are not bad, greens roll pretty true, fairways nicely manicured and tee boxes are OK, bunkers not the best and inconsistent, but for £11 - well worth playing, no need to be a golf snob about the condition and the layout as the cost outweighs the negatives.
It Should be 5 stars all round
The only flaw and I am sure in the drier months isn’t a flaw is the conditions of the fairways after bad weather. The fairyways were so water logged attempting to Hit the ball off them resulted in either being covered in mad or the ball not travelling very far.
Disappointed....
I'll start by saying that I have played here many times and have always found it to be a great course and great value.
That said, I played yesterday and was shocked at the state of the course. It was a mud bath and virtually unplayable.
I'm amazed they allowed the course to be open, to be honest.
The greens were in very good condition but Christ knows how you are supposed to get to them with how wet and sludgdy the fairways were. Even fairway woods were digging down.
To give you an idea, when I arrived I was told it was carry only. No trolley even with hedgehogs,
I know it has been raining but even so......
On the plus side, I only paid a tenner but had had enough by 15 and walked off coated in mud.
Poor
Can’t do much about the weather, but what you can do is try to protect the fairways, paths.. anywhere on the course! Was like playing through a ploughed field at times, which made for an eventful yet disappointing round.
Shame because the layout and the grassy knolls are a really striking look. Could be great with better management.
Love it
3rd time I've played here and I love it more each time
