Poor pace of play
Pace of play ruined what would of been a nice round at the weekend. Waiting on every shot from hole 3. Wouldn’t play again in anything other than a 4 ball at the weekend
Nice course
Nice coire with a couple of tricky holes
Relativity level
Interesting course pleasent and varied holes.
A course of two halves. Front nine the easier of the two.
Good value for money. My only small criticism is that the course and tees were very dry and hard desperately needed water. It was difficult to get tees into the ground on most of the holes. But this did not takeaway the fact that we had a enjoyable round of golf here and would definitely return again.
South chesterfield
Great little course great value for money and members and staff very friendly.. sad thing only was COVID because bunkers unraked and club house not open but will definitely play here again .. very nice course keep up the good work ..
I really enjoy this course.
I really do like this course I find it a very good confidence booster course.
There is some challenging holes on it as well as some driveable par 4s
Greens are always in pretty good condition.
Pro shop is always well stocked and driving range is very good.
3 hours 30 minutes with 1 person playing
The course is great, good condition greens, good fairways, good design, but the etiquette completely ruins this course. Considering I was playing on my own and usually play a round in under 2 and half hours, and it was a Monday lunch time, 3 and a half hours is crazy. A four ball took 15 holes to let a 2 Infront of me through with no one in front of them, despite them being on the tee with them every hole and me not far behide. Very frustrating and let's this course down massively
Enjoyed the Round
Tee boxes and fairways in good condition, bunkers all gur, greens slow and a bit patchy. Other facilities unavailable due to virus restrictions.
Good shame was wet that week
Very well maintained, was abit wet but not the course fault. Very wet week. 75 percent flat not very hilly but still was challenging. Finished on 98 but had a shocker on the 18th. Would recommend as good for the money. Was busy and very loved from what i saw. 4 stars but would definetly be 5 if weather was better.
Etiquette
Frustrated yet again. Two ball stuck behind four ball game, they would not let through instead held us up the entire round.
this time of year the greens were perfect
played after a few days fine weather, the course had dried out to be near perfect.the greens were spot on, better than some private courses we have played.dont get me wrong its not augusta, but for £10 it cannot be faulted
Great course and great price
Really nice course and the greens were in top condition for the time of year.
The wind played it’s part
A beautiful looking course sitting high on the hillside with stunning views across the valley. The walk to the first tee certainly warmed us up. The course was in very good condition with several risk and reward holes. The course was playing quite difficult due to the wind. Given the courses location and openness this may often be a factor. A very enjoyable round.
South chesterfield golf club
Great weather!
Very poor “welcome” in club shop. Ignored by guy behind counter for two minutes while he faffed with a golf club. Finally turned to us - no welcome or greeting (we were first time visitors!), then just as he was beginning to take our money, he was interrupted by a phone call which he accepted warmly with a cheery good morning - it was a member! We were again ignored as he completed the call!! Then he took our money! You only get one chance to make a first impression - this was a shocker!!!
Once we calmed down, we enjoyed the course, only playing front 9 holes. Development work on 2 holes means starting on the fairway, but this is only temporary. The course is a moderate challenge for the average player and good value. The greens were in very good condition and fast. We enjoyed the golf and had a pint and food in the clubhouse afterwards. Barman was friendly enough, even pouring an extra pint for “The Invisible Man”....but he didn’t make this an issue!
All in all, I would recommebthe golf course, even though at least one of the staff needs at least a beginners’ course in hospitality training!
Friendly Round
We booked a 10.32 tee off but followed a unauthorised competition by members which slowed the rate of play. But we didn’t let that spoil our game, we were out to enjoy the weather & golf. We found the course in a very dry condition, the greens were very green and true. Green side bunkers could do with a little more sand. An easy walking course and the food was excellent afterwards certainly value for the money. Will definitely be going back soon.
Greens were good and pacy in comparison to most. You cannot fault them. Good greens
Very much enjoyed the round. Good value for money and a challenging yet open round. Fairways are in good condition greens are faultless really for the money. Very good. On the day
