First time playing here and the course was in great condition, but the practice area and nets were in very poor condition did not fit the rest of the course.

Not wanting to see off this fabulous weather (August 2026) but golf courses need greening up. No more so than Shirland. Not an easy course at any time with cambered fairways, up and down hill gradient fairways. In current condition you need to play short and have the brightest neon coloured ball you can lay your hands on. Lots of fallen leaves off the trees suffering in the heat. Saying that the greens were lush, true and receptive. Friendly clubhouse with reasonable bar prices to boot. Definitely recommend.

This golf course is one of the best in the area and the price is unbelievable. Great value!

A beautiful course with rolling hills and plenty to test your skills. Good greens well worth a round of golf

Gorgeous golf course fairly hilly but well worth a visit.

Only thing was greens were a bit slow think they needed cutting but they were in good condition

Played this course a few times now and really enjoyed it fairways and greens great condition highly recommend definitely have to think about club selection on quite a few holes BANG ON

Other thing to really let down the course where the state of the bunkers. These were poor. But apart from that we really enjoyed the course and will play it again.

Don't know what was going on but this is the worst I've ever played this course out of two or three previous visits.

I'm not keen on the layout any way with constant sloped fairways putting your ball in the rough even when you hit a decent shot, and some stupidly narrow or blind tee shots with ditches everywhere.

But this time I assume the mowers had broken down. Some of the fairways were the same length as the rough (6th for instance), the greens were slow, the bunkers had very little sand, bare muddy tee boxes, etc.

I lasted 8 holes before getting depressed and fed up so called it a day. Shame as it's been fine on previous visits.

Course in good nick enjoyed the round bang on 3hrs

This course has a mixture of testing holes. From short par 4's to long par 5's. Fairways are still firm from the dry summer.

A great course for a small price, it’s the first time we’ve played Shirland GC. But we were pleasantly surprised. What a cracker of a course and it’ll be one of regular visits, we had a great day and enjoyed our round immensely. Really nice facilities, friendly staff and would recommend this course…

Pleasant course which isn’t boring. Some nice par threes and well kept greens. Friendly staff. Good facilities. Would play again.
