Haigh Hall
This is a good course in the summer, unfortunately at this time of the year it becomes too muddy.
It has a good layout and some challenging holes.
Playing in a bog
I have played this course several times and found it enjoyable. But in my opinion it should not have been open today. Despite what appeared to valiant if rather agricultural attempts to help the ground drain there were large areas of the course which could best be described as a paddy field. However the greens were in great condition.
I should have realised when I booked a tee time on a Sunday only 2 days before that I could have chosen almost any time I wanted. (Local knowledge)
I was aware of several groups waliking off the course after a few holes despite being charged £23 per round
Good course at great price
For the price, you really can’t have any complaints!
Good green sized, some challenging holes and varies pin positions every time you play.
After some pretty heavy rain the last few day the fairways/greens held up well but there were some muddy patches here and there.
Fantastic course
I traveled 40 miles, from Chester, to play here, well worth it. We played through the thunderstorm which wasn't enough to put us off or dampen our spirits , but our clothes were soaked through. Even though it was a terrible day to play golf , it was a fantastic course and ended up being my best ever round of golf
Great course, Greens are very fast but well kept.
Just a bit of advice, If coming to course from Manchester, On country lanes there is a sign saying Road Closed, ignore that sign the road is closed well after Haigh Hall.
A nice challenge - a little bit of a hike in places which may not suit senior golfers. Overall good condition. Well worth a round at £20
Great course
Quality course, 1st 9 holes good but got caught in a back lash on the back 9, It happens now and then, but overall it was a great day sun was shining, Thanks
Recommend
Great value, course in good condition excellent greens, bunkers could do with a bit of TLC, thankfully avoided them all. Went round in under 3.5 hrs great pace of play
Very friendly welcome.
Overall a very good experience
Haigh hall

Great course!
Been going to Haigh Hall for a very long time with the family. First time on the Balcarres - this is a great course for the price. The greens were in perfect condition! I would 100% recommend this course to friends, and will certainly be returning again.
Outstanding for the vaule
This course is pristine for the the price, really well kept.
Very challenging as your walking up and down hill but this is golf, right?
Will be making this my go to course as it only up.the road and it's cheap for the time I finish work.
Good day out
The course is in good condition, the greens were in good condition, one or two with worm casts but they would disappear when mown.
Busy in and around the area in a country park environment., nice little cafe for refreshments afterwards.
