Good day out
The course is in good condition, the greens were in good condition, one or two with worm casts but they would disappear when mown.
Busy in and around the area in a country park environment., nice little cafe for refreshments afterwards.
My local
Been coming here for years it's on my doorstep bad weather takes its toll on the course am getting on in years so am a fair weather golfer now ha don't go as much as i use to 😥luv the course tho
Friday afternoon in the sun
Great condition for a public muni, interesting layout and good greens !
Greens in good condition
All good, great layout with chellenging holes. Only thing I would change is that the tees could do with modifying I.e. put some seats there, or a nice new hole guide etc or ball washers. The bunkers maybe need more sand as it is a bit sparce. Otherwise a good course.
Very good track
One of the nicest scenic courses I’ve played in a while, greens in really good condition, hilly so not an easy walk but buggy’s are available. Would 100% play again
Slow
Course is great, all amenities are great, staff are great but the pace of play was really slow. There was even a group of five people playing and not for the first time either, this seem to be a regular occurrence at this course which is really frustrating when your only in a two ball. Would probably have given 4-5 star review if it wasn’t for that.
Great course
Really well maintained, friendly staff, absolutely brilliant layout with a variety of styles to play
Good Layout, Poor Condition.
Haigh Hall seems to be undergoing some major construction which unfortunately seems to be impacting small parts of the golf course. We love the layout of the balcarres course but is being let down by poor maintenance. On some holes you cannot see where the fairway starts. We will be back once some care and attention is done on the course.
Great course for the price
Can not argue with the price!! Greens in great condition. Me and my best mate now play here each week . Great value.
In all the course is in good condition..some bunkers and tee boxes need attention but greens and fairways are very good.. especially the greens for a muni..
Wonderful Haigh Hall
Lovely course with picturesque views and stunning holes, great value and well worth a visit!
Golf
Really good course to play just could do with buggies as it is a hilly course but other than that I highly recommend this course to beginners like me
Disappointing
First time I’ve played here for several years and probably the last time too.
Grass far too long in almost every area including the ‘greens’
Some grass cutting happening as we played but not collected meaning you can lose your ball on the fairway with all the cuttings being left
Very poorly sign posted
Greens full of unrepaired pitch marks and in dire need of a a leaf blower given the amount of grass etc on there
People allowed start back 9 in front of us with a 1 ball in front of us holding us up for a couple of holes surprisingly enough
Superb value for money
Played here today the greens where very nice , boggy in places on the fairways but taking into account the rain we've had recently the condition is good , the course could do with a little bit more maintenance and maybe some next hole signs but for the money we payed Im not complaining . I will be returning here soon and hopefully play better
Enjoyable knock for cheap price
Haigh hall is ideal for any golfer weather it be beginner, amateur or experienced and it will still challenge you. Not just a driver and wedge course (par 4s) and not exactly long but challenging par 3s too, price wise is likely the best for miles as the only course close is a 9 hole course weather that is the leisure lakes or over to blackburn, no 18 holes is being played for this low of a price. Absolutely perfect and will be back again soon.
Course has dried out a little and the greens are increddibly looked after considering the courses management and location 💯/💯 for me
Wet
Course every wet and balls plugging on every shot , almost impossible to play and enjoy. Greens very good.
Course very soft.
Havnt played here for a few years. The course is in very soft condition, and found myself losing balls in the fairway which is very frustrating when paying summer green fees.
Think will the course is in this condition the fees need to be adjusted. Greens in good condition though.
Very wet, muddy and unpleasant golf
Played Haigh Hall many times but always in summer months i.e. April onwards - it has always been a decent course to play whenever I've visited. However, I played yesterday and question whether they should have allowed it to be open. Only played the front 9 - 3 or 4 fairways were laden with maintenance vehicle tracks, just a mud bath waiting to swallow balls and the fringes were completely sodden and mushy. Greens weren't too bad. Clearly, it has suffered from all the rain and I'm in no way criticising ground staff who are on a hiding to nothing in these conditions however closing the course, for me, would have been better until a prolonged dry spell allows reasonable golf to be played. Consequently, I wouldn't be willing to play there again, probably for a good 3-4 weeks, assuming we do eventually get a prolonged dry spell when hopefully it will be recovered.
