Hart Common Golf Club - Main Course

Great course, played plenty of times and conditions are always excellent. Greens had been spiked but ball still rolled true

The greens are always so good here.. a few pitch marks but that’s the golfers not the green keeping staff.

Really enjoy playing here it’s a good challenge and rewards good golf shots

Similar to another recent review my round on Saturday had also taken 4 hours to do 13 holes. Waiting for ages on every tee box is no fun and I walked off after the 13th. Poor management of tee times - trying to cram too many in just backs everything up.

In addition to this we had some pretty unpleasant conduct from other golfers. Despite the course being totally backed up the group behind kept insisting on being allowed to play through. Eventually we let them as it wasn't worth the hassle. They did the same to the group in front. What is the point when everyone is in the same situation! On letting them through we then had the group behind us drive at us on the fairway 13 whilst we were waiting for the green to clear. Good job he possessed a wicked slice.

Potential to be a pretty nice course but it's not just the quality of the course that shapes the experience, and unfortunately other factors made this the worst round of the year so far

Directions to following tees required for first time players, difficult to navigate at times.

Visited the course for the first time today with the intention of going to the range and/or the Academy Course. The young lady in the shop could not have been more helpful than she was. Due to my health I can't easily do more than 9 holes. She said we could do 9 on the full course and luckily there was a gap on the first tee. Other than the odd tee the course was in cracking condition. The greens were fantastic. So thank you - we will be definitely be back. Worth a visit despite other reviews saying about slow play. We didn't find that.

Members in front with an attitude that they were members and extremely slow, the group in front of them were 3 holes clear and not once dd they offer us to play thru.

After taking nearly 4 hours to play 13 holes, I called it a day, this is the second time that I’ve experienced extremely slow play here, and I’ll be honest, I think it will be the last. Shame really, because the course itself is actually in pretty good condition, but the pace of play is terrible, too many tee off times crammed together, your looking at a 5-6 hour round on a Saturday early afternoon, which for a relatively short course is outrageous.

Got let through on the 10th tee and made it round as a two ball in three thirty hours which was a significant improvement on last week. Course was in great condition again. Greens weren't as receptive as last week but after a hot week that was to be expected. They were very fast and full of burrows. Think you'd need a few years to be able to read them. A real challenge. If this course was nearer to me, i would not hesitate to become a member. Lots of on site facilities and it seems to be a down to earth friendly club. I can't wait to pit my wits against it again,

The whole round was fantastic I’m a novice at golf but found the course to be very forgiving. The fairways and greens were impeccable Buggy hire was available but sadly all were understandably reserved ( it was 28 degrees) think they are £15 with a £5 refundable deposit.

All in all great course and will most definitely return

Around 1995 I became a member at Hart Common when it was first opened. Unfortunately not long after I had to give up the game of golf for family reasons, only recently returning to re-engage with the game.

Today I returned to Hart Common as a visitor and all I can say is what a course! The way it has matured over the last 25- years has certainly made it a very attractive and challenging layout that was a pleasure to play. The greens are well manicured and in excellent condition as are the fairways and now matured water hazards and bunkers add to the attractiveness of the Course.

I will certainly be returning.

Really enjoyed the course, it was in great condition. Lots of undulation in the course and on the greens. Which were some of the best i have played on, quick, true, receptive and like a carpet. Play however was very slow. Almost 5 hours for a three ball teeing off at 7.36. Gave me time to put other peoples divots back and repair pitch marks ! Members were very friendly and the slow played was some visitors to the course apparently. Great facilities on site also, A big thumbs up from me and tee booked for next week. Hopefully i will have learnt a bit and this will reflect in my scoring next week.

Considering the rain we have had the course managed really well with drainage, overall good value for money!

Visited again with my mate Melvin, and again had a belting game, wasn’t surprised at all when playing that the course was in great shape after the rain had lashed down for a few days b4 our booking, knew it would be a1 and can’t wait go again might even look into a membership
