Horsforth is wet

Drainage needs a lot of work. Very very wet even in middle of fairways.

Pleasant course and company spoilt by heavy rain

My friends and I will return to Horsforth GC when the weather is more clement. A pretty course with a number of challenging holes principally the 18th.u

From arriving and speaking to the very friendly staff, enjoying really nice bacon sarnies and coffee we found the whole day really enjoyable. The course was in great condition and the weather was good which always helps.

An interesting aside is the close proximity to the airport runway and jets taking off and landing right next to you adds an unusual twist.

Will definitely visit again.

Worth a visit

No problem signing in and the pro was very helpful. Slightly confusing with the Ladies signposting to the first tee being in the other direction to the men's - something that needs to be looked at - not really acceptable in this day and age.

Course was in very good condition, greens playing well and bunkers we also in good condition.

Course was well signposted, although some of the holes could do with saying to wait for the bell - again something else that needs looking into.

Bar staff were pleasant enough, although the food leaves a lot to be desired. A ham and cheddar melt was ordered, and had no Chorizo in it as was on the menu. My partner ordered a teacake - simple enough. However when the waitress brought it out she didn't bring a knife out for the jam spread and offered no sauces with the chips - such a small thing that can easily be put right and changed.

All in all a good round of Golf and although the pace of the round was very slow due to the course being congested, we would definitely play here again.

Fun and undulating

First time to Horsforth but I'll definitely be back. A friendly, down to earth welcome from the club pro who gave us a quick rundown of the course and how not to get lost (easy to follow but grateful of the info!). Lovely practice green and inviting first tee. Course was in good nick apart from the odd parched area, although I must admit I found places off the fairways others wouldn't! The course seemed a little short on the face of it but this was offset by some beautiful, tricky and intriguing holes. A few up-slopes and down slopes put paid to my round but I'm determined to return and manage my round better. A most enjoyable round and many thanks to the pro and the friendly members on course.

Horsforth golf day

We played a round of golf in glorious sunshine rare this time of year on excellent greens. The course is very well maintained and a delight to play even though challenging in parts. The only downer are the jets at nearby head on airport. Friendly helpful staff and locals and the best chips ever...its worth going just for the chips. Excellent 10/10.

Horsforth

Good testing course, very friendly helpful staff. Couldn't get the spray gun to clean very mucky trolleys but that was a minor issue.
