A gem of a course, and a true test for the serious golfer

The course is cleverly designed and laid out in the finest style and traditions of both a Scottish and also many classic links courses. Many of the tees are positioned at an angle to the fairway so as to narrow the line in. There are numerous beautiful elevated greens, and cunning arrangements of hummocks around or in front of the putting surfaces. The greens are firm, true and fast. The white tees are sufficiently different from the yellow tees as to create a substantially different course set up. The second hole is a masterpiece of a par three. Some of the paths between holes could be made better and on some of the earlier and later holes it would be helpful to have more prominent directions from the green to the next tee. Indeed, for those playing for the first time at the course it is not entirely clear where the first tee actually is! Nor the second tee for that matter. The quality of the turf is a natural gift to the course. Overall it is a beautiful golf course with great views of the surrounding landscape. It represents fantastic value for money in terms of the green fees compared with many other courses.

Tough but fun

This course is so unforgiving but in a good way! Go off line and there’s a good chance you won’t find your ball. Exposed to the elements on the top of Baildon moor expect to factor in the wind and moorland conditions however the greens run true and the design of the course is exceptional.

Beautiful place to play golf

The moor is a beautiful place to play with holes cut into the heather that punish you if off line. Very friendly golf club

Little Gen

Considering how dry it has been the course was in really good condition. The greens were scorched in places but ran true and were reasonably quick. It was quiet for a Sunday and the pace of play was excellent. The wind was a major factor blowing in off the moors but it just added to the experience. A great course and I can’t wait to play it again.

Awesome Links Course

2nd time playing this course as we enjoyed it so much the 1st time we played. The course is a lovely links that is a great challenge with plenty of scope to lose balls (which we did) but also with a bit of thought is forgiving enough to take a driver on many holes and long irons on the others. The course has great character and amazing views with lots of characterful undulations along with some lovely firm fast greens. The clubhouse is great too with friendly staff serving a good selection of reasonably priced food (we had their small breakfast that was a good size) and has a full bar service.

Thank you to all the staff - My four ball and I will be regular visitors.

Challenging Moorland c

Played here a few times now and the moorland that surrounds the course means you have to take a diciplined approach. Most fairways give you plenty to aim at, however there are some dog legs. No2 is a great hole to play, however traffic can interfere with your concentration. Overall really enjoy the course and the many great views are a bonus. Friendly cafe bar, where reasonably priced food and drinks can be purchased.

Worst course I’ve played

I was excited to play a different course, the lady in the reception said we were in for a treat 😳 but it was anything but, we were backed up from hole 2 having to wait upto 10 mins to tee off in some hole ! It took 51/2 hours to get round it was an absolute joke, there were ramblers all over the place not even on the path, had to shout at one of them because the picked my ball up! A friend of mine had a similar experience there and actually walked off the course, I wouldn’t play there again if you paid me it was that bad, I wouldn’t recommend based on my experience and will never be returning !!!!
