Worst course in dorset!!!
This has to be the worst course in dorset by a mile. The fairways are not playable! They are in a terrible state with some serious ankle breaking holes in you are not careful. The greens are a joke. There are full of holes, dead grass, divets, and the grass on the edges of the greens are longer than the rough.
Me and my friends give this course a go once a yesr in the summer months and it gets worse every year this will be the last time we play here. And for £22 that is a joke. You can play pretty much any course in the area for that money and they are all much better.
Hoped for Better
The greens were in poor condition. Probably caused by Covid-19. The course needed some TLC. The rough was not being managed. I am sure I will play the course again hoping for better!.
Going downhill
Having not played this course for several years i was shocked at the lack of upkeep. The tees are horrendous with litter everywhere and snapped tees in the hundreds. No attempt has been made to repair the holes dug by wild swings.
The greens are hit and miss, patchy at best and its hard to find a true roll on the course.
There wasn't a 150 marker anywhere to be seen, and the signs at the start of each hole were unreadable. If not covered in moss or general dirt, it was graffiti or bird droppings, which for me sums up the effort put into maintenance.
For the money I wouldn't go back until they did a lot of work to restore the place.
This course has great potential, but ........
Sad to say that the course is in a rough condition. The fairways and greens are not by any means up to standard. Over the past years the course has gradulated to a very poor condition.
I wonder what Colin Montgomery would say if he saw it.
Play through
Overall the course is in good condition and no problems from that side of things but the real problems here are with pace of play or probably more course etiquette in front of me as a one ball had a 4 ball holding up a 2 ball holding another 1 ball really the 2 groups should of let us play through. Just doesn't allow you to get any rhythm into game when you have to wait for 5+ mins at every tee
Tees, tees & more tees
Every single tee area is littered with discarded tees. I'm seems obvious that the perpetrators are the club members due to regularity of the offence and the unique tee style. They may be wooden and biodegradable eventually, but the visitor shouldn't have to sweep them to one side just to tee off themselves. It's disrespectful on so many levels, and completely unnecessary. It has nothing to do with effects of Coronavirus because was happening before the pandemic existed.
Also, the greens are in very poor condition and not being maintained, and the fairways have so many uneven channels running in all directions that your ball is constantly bouncing off to one side or the other. It's akin to trying to play golf on a freshly ploughed field.
Generally a good round
As an almost municipal course the rough was long and challenging and pace was slow in front of us. However the fairways were good, greens a little slow and rough but they were soft and could be attacked
Decent course
Wide fairways ,
But the rough is proper deep rough !
Course and greens all a bit flat , but in good condition .
Thank you
Golf
Good conditions and not too difficult for the average golfer. The grass is very long on the edges of the fareway
Disappointed very slow round
Good weather. The course was in excellent condition apart from a few wet areas first 7 holes the round was going well then we encountered a que from then until we walked off at the 12 hole (3hours later) A club competition with 7 games were in front , we were not in anyway made a where of this before we started, and it spoiled our day. I Will think long and hard before I play this course again
Okay very occasionally for a cheap round
The fact that we (a 3-ball) had to let 3 single golfers through before we finished hole 5 might have been the worst luck ever known, but along with previous experience of a culture of golfers keen to get around the course in the absolutely minimum amount of time this can be typical of what you can expect during a round here.
However, what is always annoying is the poor quality of the course. For instance, the cuts of the fairways and immediate rough are always longer than they should be, but it is the ruts that criss-cross almost every fairway which often hinders the length of your shot or redirects it to one side into the rougher areas that make this a very poor golfing experience.
We've not experienced other Progolf courses, but would be reluctant to try for the fear that the maximise for profit at the unacceptable course quality would very likely to be what is offered.
Certainly not a course in the mid or upper percentiles of Bournemouth' s and surrounding areas selection of alternative courses.
Fun and friendy round
Good friendly round with great company course was in good nick wet in places but not to bad green were a bit bumpy and need some
Pace of play was surprisingly good no waiting as we went round
Slow play delays
I like this course but Slow play by a team of golfers caused a lot of frustration A team of 4 ladies playing extremely slowly lead to at least 4 pairs of two ball golfers walking off cause it was that slow our round took over 5hours never herd of stewards should have help the timekeeping or managed tee time better
Great round of golf
We enjoyed our game today greens and fairways have benefited from recent rain and this has improved the course
Greens in good shape
Nice to see the greens returning back to normal after all the dry weather Fairways are ok but glad you have trimmed the rough areas but still managed to loose a ball just off the fairway ah well will play again.
Surprisingly good!
Considering we are in the middle of s drought, the course was in very good condition- especially the greens.
Enjoyable round
Good company sunny weather and golf course playing conditions whats not to like
