Lovely course

Excellent staff on check in. Couldn’t remember the course but very hilly and picturesque. Greens were a little bobbly but otherwise superb.

Great day out

Little lakes is a gem of a course for those who love undulating fairways and a few ravines. As can be expected the course wasn’t in tip top condition after just coming out of lockdown but was a real pleasure nonetheless. I would recommend a buggy for older players as some of the hills require a bit of effort.

You can easily lose your ball in the second cut and some of the greens are very patchy but the course layout is good and very challenging

No staff on site

No staff to be seen apart from a ground keeper.

Wasn’t any score cards available due to no staff been on site. Around the course was very few signs to next tee could have been a bit confusing lucky one of the group had played before. But I will say it’s a beautiful course and the greens were very well kept

Value for money

Enjoyed this course, for the money it’s worth it. Some of the green was a bit patchy but still playable. Club shop was closed as is the bar so can’t review that. I would definitely play here again

Great value for money

Played as in between leaving one club and joining another. It’s great value for for money and overall whilst not as challenging as the near by “premium” Kidderminster golf club it’s actually in a better condition. Be prepared for a slow round though! It’s a decent walk made slower by congestion on the course. However for less than £20 on a Saturday you can’t go wrong!

Great to be back

Great to be back playing golf after the last lockdown.

On the whole the course was in good condition. Some of the greens were obviously being treated and some of the light rough areas were a little thicker than usual. However, overall these aspects didn't greatly affect a very pleasant round of golf.

Condition could be better but it’s not bad value.

Course always seems to play harder than its slope rating. A lot of daunting tee shots and approaches into greens where wayward shots are lost balls...not necessarily that hard, psychological as much as anything. Course was a bit soft despite little rain lately, lot of mud balls as a result. Greens need some repair work and TLC as several appeared to have early repairs ongoing on loads of pitch marks from earlier in the winter. The good greens ran true, those with more damage were a lottery of bobbles. Bunkers were pretty awful, very little sand or signs of care and attention. Oddly you’re currently required to download and print the scorecard for yourself too, not ideal and I’m not sure it’s really a Covid measure as cards are single use. Pace of play always seems to be an issue at Little Lakes too, we were somehow held up by a two ball who over the course of 18 allowed the four ball and three ball in front of our three ball through. Overall it’s an ok course in a nice setting.

Lovely little course - few tweeks needed

Great little course with a challenging layout for a first time attempt at the course.

I felt the greens could of been in better condition but clearly have recently been irrigated due to the amount of sand on them and fairways could of been also cut and finished better.

However that being said, I’d happily return as I believe that these aspects would improve now that the course is open after the easing of the lockdown

Complete disgrace

We arrived at the course ahead of time and entered the clubhouse area . The lady in duty was on the phone ranting at somebody about "all these golfers who want to play in any weather" immediately that created a poor impression of the course.

We booked in and she quickly mumbled that certain holes where only available I think she mentioned about four holes. When I asked her to repeat it so I could mark it on my card she just huffed and said it should tell u outside. Which we later found it didn't.

Once we got to the first hole we immediately saw it was going to be difficult the course should never have been open it was so muddy and uneven that it was very hard to just stay on feet. Every ball hit would bury itself into the fair way and green completely. There was no markers to say a a hole was closed. We played a few holes as best as we could but each hole was taking us far to long and then trying to get to the next was ridiculous so we called it a day.

To make the most of it we popped into the clubhouse to have a quick drink before we left. As we entered my colleague was still adjusting his mask to which the same woman from early shouted as t him to out his mask on. Extremely rudely and very abrupt . Mask fully on he asked if we could have a couple of beers (we hadn't even been offered a seat at this point. To which she again barked at us "what food do you want". She hadn't even seated us or given us a menu to look what they offer.

We decided that we wasn't welcome so told her that we thought she was very rude so are leaving and she just stared at me.

We booked 18 holes expecting to play 18 holes with no information that is only a few would be available and again there is no way the course should be open.

Shame about the rain yesterday

Played there after it had been closed previous day due to heavy rain some fairways very wet greens were very good for December overall course has some interesting holes it is by no means a championship course and should not be compared against them but is priced very fairly it is next to a holiday park take a chance you wouldn't be disappointed if you go with the right mindset

Should have been closed

Upon arrival the course was closed pending an inspection. At this point I could have cancelled...course Pro told me the front 9 was ok so we was waiting to hear about the back 9. Ten minutes after my tee time the pro said the back nine was off limits and hole 9 was also closed. So could only play 8 holes and 1 temporary hole. Course was far to wet and muddy so the course should have been inspected before the very first tee off to give people time to cancel and get a refund. I had rang on the day before to ask if the course was open and was told it was with no indication on some holes being closed. Very frustrating day but I’m sure on a good day this could be a good round of golf. £20 for 8 holes wasn’t!!!

On the plus side the staff were friendly enough.
