LITTIE LAKES
PLAYED HERE MANY TIMES, AND USUALLY COURSE IN GOOD CONDITION. COURSE WAS VERY WET AND SOME OF THE GREENS. AND THERE WAS MENTION ONE OF THE BRIDGES WAS UNDER REPAIR
Little lakes
In these strange times myself and Terry attended fir a 9 am T off welcomed by a friendly member of staff covid secure and booked in. The course although being wet under foot and muddy in places played really well pace was great and the winter sun shone. .
If I had one criticism it would be leaves on the course in places. But given the time of year it’s expected.
Deffo be back to play in spring summer when covid has gone !!!
Sticky Autumnal afternoon
Excellent course - very picturesque - with many interesting and challenging holes and great greens.
Difficult to find the balls in amongst the leaves
Good challenging course.
Good challenge, some blind holes so need a course map. A bit wet in places as can be expected for this time of year. Overall good experience.
Not recommended!
I’m not one to do reviews but I felt I must this time. Do not expect anything special on this course. First of the amentiries - couldn’t find a pro-shop to get a scorecard or course advice. Poor green conditions which were like a beach, no tee signs, most holes are blind and have doglegs, no yardage markers anywhere and nearly every hole is built on a hill. Not an enjoyable experience. The course needs a whole makeover to get to a half decent standard.
An interesting course
Some tricky holes that were at times hard to navigate around. We could have played the round much faster if people had allowed faster two balls to play through.
But enjoyed the course with the greens being very good for the time of year.
Little lakes.
Super course, will keep you fit as it's a good walk, sometimes a little walk between green to next tee but otherwise a good test of your golfing skills..
Good course
Good course, few to many blind T shots and you definitely need a buggy
If you want to cry, play this course
Basically the most tortured ive ever been on a course.. layout was great, greens rolled lovely, well looked after. Lets get back to the torturing of me though. Hill’s for days ment my 5’8 an a half poor calfs took a battering. Wind was upto 20 mph so if i had hair it would of been blown to pieces! Some tight fairways meaning i was in 3-4 ok it was maybe 12 trees. Some lovely holes though. 2nd hole par 5 over a brow into a below green (obviously i missed the green with the approach shot) is top notch. Only sour taste was the last hole, I bombed a 265 yard (wind assisted) drive down the middle and lost it! Made me cry.. lovely course!!
Buggy reqd!!!
This course is in great condition but very unforgiving. Driving is difficult with the sloping fairways and balls are lost frequently!! Physically demanding without a buggy
Little gem
Very nice course, fairways and greens were excellent. Beautiful scenery, very hilly though. Some hard holes, beautiful autumn day but quite windy. Had to get scorecard from the bar area, helpful staff. Really enjoyed the day, but tired out after walking up those hills.
Course conditions
Greens were good but the second cut on fairways were poor unless you were on top of your ball you couldn't find it. The pro shop is never open so you cant even get a score card.
Challenging Woodland Course
I played this course for the first time last week. With tree lined fairways and some pretty severe slopes it can be a little daunting off the tee if you struggle with accuracy. However, if you find the fairway and have a shot in, the greens are pretty receptive and in good condition so putts rolled out nicely and weren’t too quick. Course isn’t signposted brilliantly so we got a bit confused on the first par 5 and actually played into the wrong green! But overall a really nice layout with some very interesting holes and a good day of golf.
Biggest disappointment was that they weren’t serving food when we got back in on Sunday afternoon as we could have done with some lunch! Not sure whether this was Covid related or they just shut early.
