I have played here on many occasions for over 30 years and I can honestly say I have never seen it in such a bad condition. The fairways were seriously overgrown and full of weeds, the bunkers had very little sand in them and they were rock hard and the rough was so high that there was no point trying to find your ball if you went into it. The 15th hole is 80% unplayable due to GUR and the greens are just OK. The member of staff who greeted us was unhelpful and quite rude (it was 6am), the photos on the website really are misleading and images of what the course was like in days gone by

Can’t grumble too much for the price, though we only played 9 holes due to slow groups teeing off before us. Greens were good but fairways looked like that hadn’t had a cut. But overall it was okay

First time coming here, as a new golfer the attitude we got from other people playing was disgraceful. There was a group of 5 of us we booked two tee of times, as 4/5 of us are new starters we decided started of in groups of 3&2 but we realised it was quicker to go as the 5, we let people through that we’re playing quicker than us but on the whole playing as the 5 was quicker than the 3&2, which caused us to have multiple comments saying we’re too slow, not good enough, not listening to our reasoning of going as a 5, we had our balls thrown back at us, complaints if one of us Miss hit it! It was dreadful! Never ever return here it has put a couple of us off courses for while! Shocking attitude! We’ve all had start off somewhere! Give us respect!

Played Malkins bank for the first time today, had nothing but grief off the members of the golf course, getting moaned at all day. We’ve gone there as beginners everyone has to start somewhere. I thought it was absolutely disgusting and definitely won’t be returning.

Players on course very friendly and for the price we paid the course was in good shape,in summer it will b a great course to play

It is rumored that the club is up for sale. You can tell, as the greens and fairways were in poor condition and had not seen any maintainence in a while.

Played 9 holes, first round in around 10 years. Course was in great condition! I had heard mixed reviews but I have to say the front 9 were fantastic. Challenging greens and Pin positions. Greens were quick and well kept. Considering the amount of rain we have had the course was firm in the main!

The ground was very spungie wet everywhere 15 hole needs a lot of atttention and I no it can be a good course when dry me and my old friend had a good time

A nice course but very wet in parts liking buggies on the course does nothing to the course

The weather forecast was not great, consequently the course was pretty empty. As it happened, we only got wet for 10 minutes! The greens were running better than several other courses, and although it was inevitable that parts were wet, in general the course was in good nick. Our two ball got round in 3 hours 15 minutes, value for money cannot be faulted.

We travelled down from Merseyside to tee off at 6:50am. This use to be a little gem of a coarse, but sadly it has lost its shine. Mud and water on some greens. The green keeper had only cleared the surface water two meters around the flags. It looks neglected. We won't be back in a hurry!

Great course and as challenging as always.
