Really interesting course
Really enjoyed playing here. Every hole is interesting and some cracking views. Course is in great condition.
Garry in the Pro Shop was really accomodating. I'd booked a hot deal for 2 on Golf, not not realising you get paired up with 2 randoms. I had a mate who wanted to play at the last minute and he managed to fit us in at a slightly earlier time.
Highly recommend and I will be back soon
Slow play
Course was in good condition. Great value for money. Unfortunately on this occasion play was very slow. Four ball in front of our three ball lost group in front early on but would not let our three ball through. Spoilt the experience to be honest
Whats happened to the greens?
I play normanton a few times a year. First time playing this year. Bunkers werent in a good condition and most of the greens looked like a tractor had rolles over them.
Great fun course to play buy condition of the greens was abit of a let down.
Greens had been spiked so was bit of a lottery but course in general was good. Having an enjoyable round until we came to the short par 3 10th hole. (Newly built halfway house.) This is where it all became a bit of a farce. 4 groups waiting to tee off before our 3 ball. People using the halfway house and creating a huge backlog. No etiquette being used at all. By the time we got to tee off one of our 3 ball left aving waited over 20 mins to tee off. Surely there should a course Marshall to to keep some kind of order. Just spoilt what had been an enjoyable round. Altho I like this course I would seriously think twice about going again. Big thank you to the club pro as I left my 7 iron by the side of the 12th green and it had been handed to a member 7 holes behind us by the group behind us. He let me go out in a buggy to retrieve it as I couldn't wait around long enough to get it. Very nice gesture and very polite guy. Thank you.
Normanton Golf Course
Very good condition and excellent idea to use mats all way round very good value for money
The course was in great nick for this time of year - the greens especially !
Friendly staff in the pro shop and also out on the course.
Two fourballs many tee times in front of us played in two totally different ways - one friendly and allowed us as a two to play through with the remark “ good luck when you catch them”.
We caught the other four on hole 14- did nt let us through at all
Meaning it took probably an hour and a quarter to play 4 holes. They appeared to be members too!
Social
Dont play when socail are playing 5 hours it took on my own
Great features
Lovely course to play, greens and fairways in fantastic condition staff very helpful and welcoming looking forward to my next round
What a course
I’ve played all over but rarely enjoyed a course as much as this. Fantastic greens and fairways, well placed bunkers just a treat all round. Highly recommend.
Old Hatfield Hall.
Course itself was in excellent condition apart from some tee areas were a bit patchy and uneven. That's the only negative I could give about the course and facilities tho. A great day on the course lovely fairways and very nice greens. I was half hr late due to traffic and tbe shop pro let me and my 2 friends tee off wen I arrived. Very good of him to squeeze us in as we had booked thru golf now. . I would without doubt recommend this course to anyone. Good value for money and friendly staff including behind the bar.
Great hidden gem, I had driven passed this course numerous times and thought it looked very ordinary... how wrong was I. From the roadside the drivable par 4 didn't look anything special but looks are deceiving.
As you arrive the long road winds through the course giving you glimpses of what's to come.
I was very impressed with the great looking clubhouse and the well stocked Pro shop. The course is is very well maintained and starts with a drivable par 4 and there's a couple more making it interesting, risk or reward.... As for the greens, wow they are quick and there's a few with one and two tiers so make sure your pin high otherwise you may be three putting. Great course we'll done Normanton, I'll definitely be a regular visitor.
Great course! Really impressed!
All keen golfers need to come here! Thoroughly enjoyed it!! Mixture of everything! Good driving holes, a thinkers course! Greens great! Ran true and fast! Bunkers good condition! Layout superb! Hidden gem this! Definitely come back! Enjoyed it that much I enquired about becoming a member! Staff friendly! Can’t say a bad word! Worth every penny!
10/10
Good course great greens
Having played the course a few times over the last 10 years I was surprised how fantastic the greens were. Very fast but fair and a real challenge even for low handicap. Service at the 19th hole questionable as was the language of certain members but don't let that put you off if you are paying less than 25 quid
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Our course maintenance - hollow coring is essential to preparing the course for the summer and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
We have taken on board the issue you raised on the backlog due to people using the Halfway facility, going forward a Marshall is something the club are now looking into on busy days .
Once again thank you for taking the time to write this review and we look forward to welcoming you back to Normanton Golf Club.
