Oaks Sports Centre Golf Club - Main Course

Perfect course for intermediate players looking to use their drivers, the fairways are large and with no major obstacle. I definitely recommend it

24 handicapper, nice open course pretty straight forward with some long par 3s, but lots of par opportunities

No excess water was to be found on the course and the condition of the course was great.

You wouldn’t have known from the condition of the course, that we are (1) in the middle of winter (2) the weather lately has been very wet.

A huge shout out to the course management, but especially the green keepers.

Playing off artificial mats that are worn out I felt this time was unnecessary. The tee boxes looked good enough to be at least half open. They’re long enough to rotate spaces. As a keen golfer, I want to be teeing off from grass tee boxes at a course like this, the ground wasn’t wet as hadn’t rained for weeks, a bit of laziness from the course green keepers.

Greens have the crow problems. Making divots from catch worms etc. Not the worst though, easily playable.

Had a good days golf, all tees were off of mats which you can except this time of year but the grass tees needed a lot of work to get them ready to play on and the greens needed a bit of attention ,

Golfers need to repair pitch marks would help for a start but a fare and varied course in my opinion.

Played a number of courses this winter, but this the first one to have 18 tee mats, regardless of location. Accept needed in some places, but some rotation of grass tees would work.

First time playing the full 18 holes. Was good playing surface during winter which is good. Only negative was that the we were there for the first time so was very confusing truing to figure out where to go next so signage should be more visable or at least better. Thank goodness for someone playing alone who joined us after speeding passed others as he was let through the bigger group behind us. He knew his way around.

Otherwise i was happy and would definitely play the course again

Challenging but very well presented course, very playable in the winter with a firm fairway and good greens only minus point would be the older members are reluctant to let players through slowing the pace of your round

It was a great course for excellent value! I was at the course a week before, when it was strong rain for a few days, so I was very pleased to see how excellent the conditions were considering.

We were however waiting a while between holes, perhaps 5-10 minutes at every tee. It seems like tee times were very tightly packed, which wasn't great.

Otherwise though, fantastic.

Course is in overall excellent shape having taken a busy summer of golfers playing 7 days dawn till dusk. The fairways are wide and generous but the camber will catch ( almost) everyone out as balls veer viciously off to the left or right on holes 6,7,8, 10, 14, 16 & 17.

Greens are also deceptive as they are in most cases large and often two tiered but pace very hard to read with balls easily putted off the green with a medium pace putt; beware!

Stand out holes are 7, 10, 12 and 17. Enjoyed it
