The Oaks
The course it self has a nice easy lay out that suits golfers that are starting out.
The greens were awful.
if we were given notice we might have chosen a different course.
Yeah, it's alright
One of the few places I could get a round in at midday sunday without having to spend over £40. I've played before, and it was about the same as this time. The course is just a bit tatty and rough in several areas.
Some greens are great, others not, the same goes for around the green and some tee boxes. In part this could be due to how many people have taken up golf this year and have no respect for a course (fixing ball divots, replacing fairway divots, LEAVING BEER BOTTLES ON BENCHES). Also, it's in part because there's not tons being re invested into the course. Like why are the winter tee boxes still there? That shouldn't be permanent. Anyways, it's better than Thames Ditton and Esher which is laughable.
So as an overall feel about the course, I shot alright, left a few out there, but the course is open and forgiving, not difficult imo. Definitely not a 4 star course., 3.2 at best. It was a fun day though, but golf it always fun.
Greens under repair
I came back because I had a wonderful experience the first time round.
Much of the greens were under repair and should have been mentioned. Impossible to putt with all those greens full of holes for aeration.
However, Fairways are good still and grass are cut to length. And pace of play is good.
Great conditions
Despite being the end of summer, the course is in a great condition. Greens are great, fairways are fine. Great value for money
Evening round
Nice evening round. Course in decent conditions, with bunkers now fully in play. Some slow play on back nine by people in front annoying, especially when they didn’t let me play through, but an enjoyable round nonetheless
Beautiful course
Played it the first time today and found the course condition absolutely beautiful.. pace of play is good and there is no one pushing me from behind and those in front of me were also pacing nicely. Very tricky greens but they roll very true. Nice test of your putting skills.
Lovely course
Really nice course. Nice wide fairways off the tee but also lots of bunkers so make sure you drive straight. Some really nice holes. Will definitely play here again
