Golfer Reviews
Value for money course
The course drains well during winter
Teed off on mats as there is maintenance work being carried out on the tee boxes
Still enjoyed my round of golf today
Take a picnic
Fair enough course was busy but behind a three ball that had lost a hole on the two ball in front who had also lost a hole in the four ball in front of them
Greens were in good condition and staff were very pleasant and helpful
The very definition of an average golf course
Nothing wrong with the course at all. Nice and dry for the time of year but an extremely forgettable layout with very few interesting holes. For the price we couldn't complain but wouldn't go back.
Pace of play
4.5 hours for a round and it's a short course! People behind us gave up and everyone around us were angry and was a horrible environment as a result!
Course was ok, I think it was a bit expensive for the condition (no deal) but my major gripe was the pace of play!
Friendly staff and the greens were deceiving!
day at the OAKs
I have played a few courses whilst on holiday in South London, The Oaks was certainly well worth a visit and I played it twice both times at an excellent fee of £11, great value for money, the first time the weather was good the greens and fairways were in good condition, but the round was slow because even though i teamed up with another player, there was a 4 ball in front that wouldn't let us through (perhaps if they used a marshall it woyld help with the speed of play). The second round was interrupted by a storm, which happended on the 9th tee. Its a long way from the clubhouse, but I went in for a cup of tea and went out again 30 mins later, the course dried up very quickly after seeing plenty of surface water when I went in. so drains very well greens very good bunkers good, a good course was my overall impression
Fantastic value for money
At £11, this was fantastic value for money. The course was in great condition, just a shame they couldn't arrange for the rain to stop for me!
Very good condition , some interesting holes and really good facilities will play again. Bar and club staff very welcoming and helpful
Value for money course
I found the course perfectly acceptable after 2 days of rain. Fortunate, to not have rain on the day we played.
Speed of play was reasonably fast. Played as a 3 ball and did not catch up with any 4 balls.
A bit hilly so make sure you bring your trolley or get a buggy. A lot of lies were on slopes so it is best to look at the terrain.
Great money for value
Wanted a cheap round around the London area. Came across this course. Player with a friend. Very good course for the value and the course was very free. Throughly enjoyed my round and would recommend.
