Great course
First time playing this course and it was challenging but very enjoyable. You have to think about shot choices due to hazards along the course that sometimes are not visible from the tea box. Overall would recommend this course to anyone!
Ok round we were a 2 ball with a 1ball behind us we being held up with play in front not a promblem with the amount of leafs on the course it was some times difficult to find your ball then on the 9th hole we had teed off and the one ball just teed off with is ball landing near us he then just strolled up we let him carry on with no apology from him for hitting his ball near us bit rude I thought I pretty sure he was a member left a bad taste in the mouth
A great challenge
Challenging layout with a lot of doglegs and hidden water hazards
Brilliant course - hidden gem
Played this course for the first time and it’s an absolutely stunning course. Considering the heatwave conditions recently the course was in brilliant condition, thoroughly enjoyed the layout of the course and is very testing. A real hidden gem
An absolute hidden gem
This is a must play course in the Midlands; quiet and hidden away it was in particularly good condition given the recent drought weather, fairways were much greener than anywhere else I had seen. The layout is very interesting, with many risk-reward holes, and good play is rewarded but bad play is punished.throughout the course, all carefully placed to catch poor shots. There are many ditched and ponds The interest begins with a 90 degree dogleg short par 4 over a pond. The 4th hole is a stunning par 5, a downhill tee shot and then a narrow approach to the green which drops off on two sides and has a road on the other. The 10th in one of the most challenging par 5 holes I have ever come across, a boomerang-shaped beast of over 600 yards off the white tees. The 17th is the standout par 4, 446 yards with a blind drive over a hill to a fairway that sweeps around to the left with trouble on both sides. Having played the course the first day I was so impressed I went back and played it the very next day. It is definitely a course where you benefit fro mhaving played it before. And at £15 for a midweek afternoon round, you will not find a better value round anywhere - a great golf course.
Great course
Lovely course with a great layout. Plenty of signs to get you to the next tee as you do have to intertwine. To say we haven't had any rain the greens are excellent as are the tees. The bar could do with a refit but the staff in there are really friendly. Would definitely recommend.
Hidden gem
A great course with some challenges. It was in fantastic condition especially considering the current dry spell and it’s well worth a visit. Don’t fo to have a drink in the bar after where you are sure of a warm welcome
Good course!
A good course! Quite long and lots of dog legs. Definitely worth the £16 (inc. booking fee) that we paid. Staff really friendly in the bar afterwards!
Good course design
Played mid-week and was great value. A very well designed course with lots of doglegss and varied terrain. Quite a daunting 1st hole and all greens on good condition. Will certainly be returning
Little gem
Superb course, cheap and well maintained. Can’t ask for much more.
I will definitely be playing again the near future
Course Review
Great game, friendly staff - very friendly local golfers made non-members feel welcome.
Condition of the course
Selected this golf course because the fairways are always very green compared to many others which are very dry due to the hot weather.
Tough course but every hole offers something different.
The Nomad Golfer
I’m not a member anywhere and play a number of local courses. Always enjoy my rounds at Ormonde Fields. Majority of the course, layout greens and fairways were in great condition. Some of the greens though had clearly had work done and were aerated causing them to be very bobbly. All in all a good course for a decent price. Will return
Lovely course, tight in places
First time here and it was a solo round. It really is a lovely course in magnificent condition. Although some pretty basic holes, it is quite tight in places with a lot of up and down. Really enjoyed the round and the friendliness of all other golfers I saw out on the course that day.
Pleasantly surprised
A neat compact course , in excellent condition, with enough challenges to make it enjoyable. I look forward to playing here again in the future
Good challenge
Really good course only down side is should be some information before you book that your tee time is at the back of a society 4.5 hours to get round was slow
Very ignorant members!
Played here 3 times came across some very ignorant members! Wouldn’t play here again!
