Ormonde Fields Golf Club

Played this course course for the first time on a hot deal and I absolutely loved this course. Fairways were really lush making it really easy for ball striking and the amount of attention to the way the course is maintained is a real credit to all the staff. Only negative was that the greens had just been treated but that’s part and parcel of golf. Very friendly in the clubhouse and everyone we passed was very pleasant. If this course was closer to where I live I would definitely join but hopefully we can get to come back and play again soon. Top venue for golf.

I would recommend it as one of the outstanding course in Derbyshire.

Great course

Some really interesting holes

Last 2 times played though -rounds so slow

Once was down to a competition from members in 4 balls and our tee time was bang in middle of them so as 2 ball no chance of playing through

The other time was down to clueless 2 ball that had no idea they were holding up 3 groups backed up behind them

Not been for a while and not disappointed. The course played very well with greens in excellent condition. The course has a good layout with some tasking holes which makes you think about your shot choice.

The course is In a absolutely amazing condition and staff are friendly, the holes are very narrow tho not ideal if you can not hit your driver straight which is needed as the holes play long and most tee shots are blind

overall course is good to play but the greens and in need of help and repair looks like they have cut it to sort and its died in places

overall the course is in very good condition fairways are beautiful roughs are nice tees are good but the greens need help it seems the green keepers have cut the grass to short and dead patches are coming through which lets the course down but over all really enjoyed my time on the course.

Tricky course which you will need to plan your game

While the course may not be long, apart from the par 3's you can't see the green / pin placement. Course management is a must. Greens in top condition

Our first time will not be our last, Now we understand the layout better then both of us should be able to reduce our first score.

First time we have played here, helpful staff and friendly welcome from member's, she quite tricky holes dependant on pin positions. recent wet weather made greens fairly slow with drying they will no doubt speed up, some fairways have low tufty grass preventing the run of the ball finer cut would improve run on the other hand would also increase grip on some of the hilly holes where grip is more important. on the whole good all-round test with interesting course layout.

Great course. A surprising little hidden gem in Derbyshire.

I’m not normally one for writing reviews but I played at Ormonde Fields yesterday and I felt that I had to share my experience. The course was in fantastic condition considering the time of year, the greens were great and it is a brilliant test of your game! The staff are all very friendly and the overall environment is first class. This is the third course that I have played for the first time in the area in the last week l and this was by far my favourite!

Played Ormonde Fields with family & friends when visiting the area recently. This was the final course of the 3 we played during our stay and did not disappoint. The course was is very good condition, greens were good and the layout keeps your interest. Several blind shots can add a shot or two to your round on your first visit. Overall a really enjoyable experience.

I have only played this course once before many years ago but it didn’t disappoint. Green and fairways all in really good condition. Interesting course and although we were held up a bit as there was a competition on, everyone we spoke to was really friendly . Will definitely be returning.
