Excellent course

Went to scalm park on 8/5/25

Booked through golf now website. Without a problem

Arrived plenty of parking. Went in to confirm our reservation

Asked if they needed proof. They asked what name the booking was and time of tee off. Then out on to the course the course was in very good condition. The fairways had plenty of run on them and the greens were very good too

The course is well planned out. And very easy to get around. A few hazards ie water. Tricky for some of us high handicappers

But all in all enjoyed it very much and definitely recommend.

So see you soon x

Good course facilities require updating

On arrival I was a little disappointed with the look of the club house and surrounding facilities that were in bad need of a refresh. No coffee machine to get a drink before the round but was offered an instant coffee from the bar.

Once we got out on to the course our experience improved, it was well kept and enjoyed the round of golf. I was quite busy so we were held up on most holes but I put that down to being bank holiday weekend. I would play again but would have to a bit cheaper in price for the facilities offered.

Scalm park golf

Nice no frills course, if you are after a immaculate top tier golf course this is probably not for you but if you want a nicely laid out 18 hole course set up around fishing lakes and nice countryside which is hard enough to be a test but not so hard that it destroys your game then this ticks the boxes, plenty of variety on the holes from the starting par 4 dog leg to the terrifying par3 second over one of the fishing lakes you get the feeling it's a well thought out course.

Reasonably priced at £20 per player through the golf now online booking.

My only downside would be the last 3 occasions I have played the pro shop has been closed which seems a bit of a shame but a pretty minor blemish on what I consider to be a overall a nice little course.

Little Jewel

What an enjoyable day of golf I had. Staff all very friendly. As were my fellow golfers.

On my own but invited to play with a 2 ball, who turned out to be ay similar level.

I thought course condition better than average, with nice greens of varying speeds.

Nice course for beginners also with forgiving fairways & not too many bunkers.

Great course

Great course. Played mid March and the conditions were excellent. A little disappointing that fairway mats were still in use, but understandable given they want to keep the course looking well. The winter tees were still in use, but they were in decent condition.

The course is on the easier side due to the length of holes and width of fairways, but there are some challenging holes, including a par 3 over water.

The halfway house was excellent. Staff really friendly.

Only grumble would be the pace of play but that’s always a factor with several 4 balls in front.

Will definitely return.

Great Local Course

This really is a great value local course that is in good condition. It’s very laid back, not pretentious and well kept for the price. Winter tees which are in good condition, they are doing a lot of work on the tees for summer which look great. Fairway mats in use so the fairways will be amazing by summer. Greens are in good condition and green keeper said they had been rolled so were fast. A wide and forgiving course which is great for all abilities. Bar does a nice pint afterwards!

Tuesday 4th March 2025

Course in really good condition considering the date and the weather we have had. Fairways dry and well manicured in the main.

Not sure why we had to use winter Tees and fairway mats still. Absolutely not required.

Overall Review

Only been playing golf for about 8 months and this is the only course I go to, so I cannot compare to other courses. From playing a round here with people who have played at other places. This course has everything you need for a round of golf! The greens, fairways, bunkers and all the amenities are top notch! Like I said, this is the course I go to all the time and I think it’s brilliant.

Not great when 4 holes are closed and not told until you get there

4 holes closed. General course was in ok condition but not to be told and charged full price is poor.

Course in brilliant condition for the time of year

Course was in great condition. Weather was really foggy but it didn’t spoil the round.

Went round in 92 playing off of the fairway mats and winter tees.

Great course

There is not a better well maintained golf course than this one any where. The price you pay is well worth it. Course conditions are excellent even at this time of year.🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟😊👍
