What a Gem

This course really is superb, it’s a challenge as it’s very hilly and you don’t get a flat lie! Greens were exceptionally good, really interesting holes, par 5s were getable and tough par 3s. You have to play this course!!

Great course pace of play was slow

Great course, but really hilly. Staff very friendly and the members seemed really nice. One member let me join him when we got stuck behind a two ball.

Just prior to this I got stuck behind a three ball and they didn’t offer to let me through for 5 holes and only when one of their players hit their ball so far left I think it’s probably still in flight! But to his credit he found it! (Reminded me of Patrick Reed and the whole tree incident, definitely my ball!)

All in all a good day out and weather was amazing.

Just a shame that some members are a little reluctant to let you play through.

Fantastic course

Hands down one of the best courses in the area. It’s hard to fault it at all. It is quite hilly though so won’t suit everybody. Looking forward to playing it again

Excellent course

Played for first time. Really friendly staff in the club shop. Course is quite ‘friendly’ to a high handicapper. A couple of tough holes (as there should be) but overall a really good course in excellent condition. Will return

Hidden Gem

My first visit after high praise from other golf society members. The pro mentioned that the greens weren’t their best but believe me some courses would be happy with greens of this quality even though they’d been hallow tined. Started with a breakfast which was lovely and then enjoyed a leisurely paced round. Layout is good with a few challenging holes mixed in with reachable others. Certainly somewhere I would return to as the friendly nature of the staff plus the interesting layout with some very small greens appeals to me a lot.

Temp greens

Have played here many times and usually enjoy it. But The day we played the front nine holes were on temp greens due to tining and dressing greens. When l say temp greens l mean the fairways cut shorter. Impossible to put on. Second nine were in very good condition but as we were playing they were cutting fairways for temp greens so suspect all now on temps. And, no reduction in price.
