Great day out, great round at this challenging short track.
Not the longest course, not the hardest (apart from the heart-attack inducing 16th) but a good test to score well.
Played on my own (still bedding in my new swing) and came off with 42 points.
Beautiful day, course in great nick - although still off mats in a few places due to returfed tees or some residual damp. Crossing over fairways in a few places means you need to pay attention and it is hilly so not suitable for less mobile players, although carts are available.
Extensive views which mean it can be a bit hairy on a windy day.
For £26 it’s fun, especially on the warmest day of the year so far.
Very Enjoyable
Although the course is not the longest, it’s actually quite tough as some of the greens are fairly undulating, they were in super condition for the time of year.. The overall condition of the course was good. It’s a little hilly in places but well worth it for the outstanding views from the top of the course.
Don’t be fooled by yardages at this course, it’s a tricky course that requires precision off the tee
Fairways are in a bad way and that’s with using fairway matts
Pitch marks all over greens. Fixing 3-4 at a time is disgusting
Awful treatment by the head professional making us feel unwelcome due to not being being members at the course,
Challenging course in very good condition.
This is a very deceiving course if you look at the score card, appearing short in both length and par. It has a proper heathland setting and I imagine with the wind blowing strong it’s a very difficult course to master. Good condition all round especially considering how dry it has been this year. A few areas under repair but all clearly marked and nothing detrimental to the game. I really enjoyed this course and wish I had played it sooner as someone who lives nearby.
Very friendly people and can't do enough for you, Excellent value for money, but very hilly challenging course, my tip would be rent a buggy
Bit of a gem
It may be short (par 65) but don’t be fooled it’s a serious golf challenge with some tricky holes…..beautiful views and a few elevated tees make for some interesting drives!
The pro was very helpful, the rest of the staff equally so and the members friendly
Enjoy

Excellent course with friendly staff
Course in excellent condition
Different kind of test.
Not a very long course, but enjoyed it. It's the hilliest (if that is a word) course I've ever played but provided a different kind of test because of that. Staff were very helpful and welcoming. We'll be back.
Very Hilly.
Great Course, very hilly so beware. Fairways and greens in excellent condition, very exposed to the wind. Can’t wait to play again. Spoke with the club pro in the shop, very pleasant, approachable guy. Simulator room looks good and well priced too.
Must be played at least once
Wow,when we arrived and saw the massive hill infront of us I was shocked. The first 3 holes were tiring but the course flattened out a bit afterwards, until the last 3 holes. But the views were spectacular and the course is in beautiful condition. it was an absolute pleasure to play this course and I will sleep well tonight.
Quirky little gem
Firstly, we caught some of the very little poor weather we have had so had to stop at hole 12 (conveniently placed outside the clubhouse). The club was kind enough to say they would give us a deal on a return visit.
The pro and the rest of the staff were very welcoming, friendly and informative. The clubhouse and members likewise.
It is heathland style so the ball was running for miles and it made for an interesting challenge. It is very hilly. Two of us shared a buggy, and this was an excellent idea. The one who walked needed respite on most tees.
Careful thinking on every shot is paramount.
Of the holes we played, there was only one I did not particularly enjoy. A long, uphill par 3. My advice is to accept four and play it like that. Otherwise, a tricky layout but much fun to be had. I would advise playing it when in a rich vein of form. Don't bother about the yardage, your score may quickly rattle up if you are not on it.
I am looking forward to playing here again. It is worth travelling for. You will not be disappointed.
