Different
Very different. fairways in good condition but the greens had work done on them so weren't at there best ,a long walk between some tees . Its a very tight course which is a good test . A few blind holes but I would also recommend a buggy if not so fit. All being said if i was in area would play again . Great clubhouse and covid safe food good .
Silverdale
What friendly people - a great warm welcome. Some great views, some of the holes are tight, little room for wayward tee shots. You can safely leave your driver at home for this one. A couple of the holes cross 13, you cross the 1st and 11th fairways. All in all a nice course well worth playing.
Great course & great day at Silverdale GC
I played here a number of years ago and wanted to come back. I’m quite tight so didn’t want to pay more than £20 but did do (£23)
My playing partner had never been before but fell in love with the place within a couple of holes. The first is a wonderful opener leading down and across the road / railway to holes 2-10. These are more open holes but still challenging in their own ways. For 11-18 it’s back across the road / railway to tighter more compact holes and even more challenging.
I found the mix of holes to be fantastic. Uphill , downhill, slant left, slant right and all in the picturesque area of Nth Lancs / Sth Cumbria. The 13th is a great challenge and really quirky.
The fairways and most of the greens were in fantastic condition, some greens on the back had been recently treated and will be fine in a week or so.
All in all a great course, challenging and great to look at. I’ll be going back and it’ll be worth that extra few quid to do so.
Gold star
Lovely course. Played once before and this time just as good. Not long but fairly hilly and rocky. Some tight fairways, blind tee shots. Very enjoyable, apart from rain, cant win them all!
Silverdale
Booked a game at siverdale needed to add one more person but the other 2 places had been taken.Rang them up explained the situation and asked if we could move our tee time forward 20 mins no problem at all.Got to the course very friendly staff and members welcomed you very polite as well .one member called Andy was teeing off after us as he was on the tee .He joined us to make a four ball. It was good to have some local knowledge of the course which was a big help he made us welcome and had a good game with him so thanks Andy we had a great day .A good challenge really enjoyed and and will be going back again and would recommend it to anyone .Food was good as well.
Sunday 3 ball
Very fortunate we got an early time 7.40am
Like millionaires golf
Stunning track in great condition
Back 9 is a real challenge
Put your driver away !!
Wish I lived closer I’d play it more often
Silverdale golf club
Great layout, course in brilliant condition. Very friendly staff and members. Will definitely return.
Brilliant Course with views!
We were in Cumbria on a break, so I booked Silverdale for myself and my future mother-in-law. On arrival, there was a warm welcome from all staff and competition players. The course is very well kept and challenging, with some outstanding views and complicated shots, particularly the infamous ‘13th Hole’! Truly enjoyable day, never felt rushed and plenty of people offering advice on the way around. Would love to return at some point.
Stunning
Wow what a course , everything perfect , amazing greens , played every day for the past week on different courses and this is the best so far , even better when you can pay on arrival , willl definitely be back
Augusta on Morcambe Bay
Love this course but just like Augusta you need to play it a few times to understand it’s quirky subtleties.
The first 9 has some excellent driving holes, although a few blind shots mean you need to check you lines into well guarded greens.
The back 9 is all about placement on short holes and changes of elevation.
Course was in great condition even after a lot of rain.
Friendly club house too.
Silverdale Golf CourseI
First time playing the course and enjoyed it emensley The greens are emaculate and are a pleasure to put on
The course is challenging and is very hilly and will give u a good work out especially the first 9 holes I would recommend hiring a biggie as it will take it out of you when finishing the round Nice course and very well maintained and very friendly and helpful
Greens best in North West
I play up and down the country and you go long way to beat these Greens. I played there yesterday 03/06/18 and the course was In great condition. Some of the holes are very testing especially the Eighth.
Silverdale GC
Played here about three years ago so thought it time to return. This time the course was dry and in good condition. Well maintained fairways and greens made for a good day.
Holes 2-10 are across the road and not as entertaining as the remainder , back over the railway and road. Not the longest course but if you stray offline you’re in trouble, especially on 1 then 11 onwards. The plateau didn’t destroy my card this time but a challenging hole all the same.
The clubhouse is excellent and I would recommend this course for an all round good day out.
The ups and downs of Silverdale.
An interesting course, with changing levels for tees, fairways and greens. You need stamina and good knees to complete a round, but the satisfaction offsets the fatigue.
What a Lovely Course
Ill be back, the back nine is a bit of a challenge, having said that what a great place to spend the morning great food nice people you should try it I will again soon
