Golfer Reviews
Nice course
Decent course, friendly golfers, back nine very attractive 👍
Lovely course
Great course I really enjoyed, but the waiting going round is annoying as x2 4 we’re playing really slowly and wouldn’t let us through. Lads with tops off too playing golf is a bit off putting.
Great course!
Course was really well maintained and a lovely course to walk round. There isn't a restaurant or bar after but there is a small fridge with beer and pop in for sale amd benches outside to sit on. But for the price range its definitely worth it. Will deffo be going back.
Great course
Despite the weather the week before the course held up very well and kudos to the green staff that maintained the course.
Staff upon arrival were very friendly, useful that £1 coin operated the driving range ball dispenser rather than having to buy a card
Played the course on an off chance as my home course was full and would highly recommend again!
Only downside were 2 x 4 balls playing ahead that wouldn’t let me play through (as I was playing on my own) so I skipped 1 hole (9) and jumped to 10 which was quite easy to do! Greens great, fairways good, rough tricky.
Course boggy, many plugged balls on the fairway, surprising as grass on fairway very long, first cut of rough long and boggy. The greens were Ok some had been cut others hadn’t ( may have been due to our 7:30 tee time)
Played the course last July and it was in far better condition.
Bright n cold
Although the guidance was only 2 holes on temp greens, almost all were set at the very edge of the green and so spoiled the round somewhat. Greens also frozen but that's not fault of the coarse. Volumes of goose poo is disappointing but, again, difficult for the coarse to rectify. Directions from one tee to the next are poor and there's no obvious signage for hole length, SI, etc. esp off temp tees that are not so close to permanent tee. And as clubhouse was still closed for another 30 mins at my tee time, I couldn't pick up a card. Maybe should have some kind of DIY dispenser?
Freezing
Always a good course, especially for a relatively new player like me.
This date was freezing conditions therefore a difficult round.
No staff seen (early tee) but usually very nice.
Ridiculously Overbooked
There was a society playing a tournament in front at a very slow pace of play. In each tee there were 5 groups of us waiting around on every hole. This made for an unenjoyable experience. There wasn't enough spaces between tee off times and no had been made aware of the tournament going on. So there were alot of unhappy golfers just twiddling there thumbs for the most part. A few people even walked off and didn't finish there round. The course itself is nice it's just a shame about the amount of people on the course at one time.
Poor greens and tees, with odd holes
Rang the day before playing, turned up and teed off only to find the greens were heavily covered in sand with the pins leass than 3 foot from the fringe so impossibleto putt on. It was disappointing that the staff didn'tinform us of the conditionof the greens. When we booked. Many of the tees were not flat. Some of the holes were very short par 4s, a very long par 3 and long par 5s with some strange holes. The course is relatively open and easy, so suits beginners. Bunkers were in good condition as were the fairways. There are better courses for similar price.
