Excellent public course

We were travelling back from the Open on the Saturday and no private course could accommodate us to play a round in the morning. Six Hills did and all I can say is 'What an excellent public course it is'. Views, greens, fairways and facilities first class. Better than most expensive private courses I've played over the years. Staff friendly and accommodated our needs. If I lived in the area I would join without a doubt. If you are in the area then play it, worth every penny, Thanks again Six Hills, I will defo be playing again at some point.

Six hills

Easy walking as flat. Found on oversll good condition. Women in shop very friendly. Has a range and putting green and buggies available. Fairly open and relatively forgiving course so enjoyable for the higher handicapper.

Worth a visit

As a beginner this has been one of my first 18 hole courses and would highly recommend a trip. I play with season golfers and it is challenging for them but with decent sized fairways it offers the newbie hope.

Long established pay and play

Must be the only course in the UK with an abattoir adjoining the 15th fairway. Am I sorry if the location of the slaughterhouse has had a detrimental effect on the golf course owner's business? No as he built the abattoir with an EU grant and then sold it!

Pleasantly surprised

This course was most enjoyable. Very flat so walking easy and whilst the first few hols were a bit upfield-down field it then got more interesting and picturesque with some very pleasant water features and some quite tricky holes.

Bar was not open when done so restricted to very limited fare from shop but has a couple of bottles and enjoyed sitting on very nice terrace looking down the 18th. For the price overall very good and likely to return.

Course cond I rate as good and greens deceptive with subtle borrows. fairly forgiving on fairways as when wide first cut and spaced trees provide most problems , little deep rough unless seriously wide.

Confusion at the first Tee

Tee off booked for 7:24, but once on the Tee another group also claimed to have the same time booked. Course was in very good condition, greens a little soft but otherwise superb. Pace of play wasn't great but was far from a disaster, and had a thoroughly enjoyable morning.

Good value little course

This was the first time playing Six Hills for us. It was in good condition with nice greens and well kept fairways.

The parkland course is great for higher handicap players and beginners.

The pace of play was fair and there were few people around.

The layout isn't particularly challenging and is quite short but made for an enjoyable round regardless

Enjoyable course

The course is good with well kept greens and fairways. It was quite windy which made some of the back nine tricky due to no trees around the holes but that added to the game. Good clubhouse and staff.

Good course at value for money

Well kept course. Greens were in very good condition and putting fast. Nice variety to the holes with bunkers and some water hazards etc. Good variety also in long and short holes.

A lot of the holes were fairly similar in that they could just be long back and forths but generally quite good

Favourite hole was unanimously decided as the 16th. Like something out the teletubbies.

Facilities seemed good (if not a bit dated/tired in the clubhouse). Didnt use it but nice looking driving range.

Excellent value at only £20 on a sunday. For that price it would certainly be worth considering another round

Best value course in leicester

Played this course 3 weeks ago for the first time and have been back 3 times since. Course in great condition. Greens great. Only gave off course amenities 3star as we haven't used them so can't really review. I'm relatively new to golf and find this course quite open and forgiving which is obviously a good thing for myself!
