Good greens, poor juniors

Played the course today with my brother, greens were in decent condition and it was a fair course for the price. However, a group of four juniors were a complete embarrassment to the club. They jumped on the 11th while we were putting the flag in on the 10th, then preceded to hit reloads when their shots were playable. After a while they must have got bored so decided to stand next to a green after playing it and hit flop shots at a bin while other people were teeing off nearby and we were playing up to the green. They then just walked off, chatting while people were teeing off. The juniors at our club (and we're not from a 'posh' area) would never dream of behaving like that. I hope it was a one off and they'd usually have better manners.

Course is a little gem

What a good course which is really well maintained, some very challenging holes, staff are very friendly and helpful. The round was slightly ruined by a four ball we ended up behind from the 10th hole, who were slow and no etiquette

Excellent value for money

Lovely pleasant course with a few challenging holes particularly from the back tees. I had not played Stanmore for a few years (about 10) and was pleasantly surprised by the amount of work done to the course in my absence (lots of trees removed, a few new bunkers and improved drainage).

The greens, fairways and grass tees were in good condition (quite a few temporary tee boxes in play which was a shame) and the general pace of play good, however some members are reluctant to call faster players through.

All in all excellent value for money at £14, I would certainly come again and would most definitely recommend playing this course.

A very good golf course

Tee time: 12.31

Saturday

Arrived a hour early to warm up and first impressions the course looked in good condition ,

Had ample parking .

Had two chipping areas and a putting green and also two nets in very good condition for warming up in . Had over night rain so we're a bit soggy but not too bad and matched conditions on the course .

Pro shop was small but extremely well stocked and was given a warm welcome and made use of a electric trolley at only £8.50.

Teed off a little early on a course that was well laid out and fairways were soft but not soggy , greens were soft to approach shots to get in close but still had a good roll and had good test of green reading . Only a couple were a little bubbly and woolley and was a few pitch marks to repair but that's the only criticism you could make .

Course was good test and had picturesque views over stanmore and London.

There is a few sever hills on the course and few doglegs to test shot shaping and course management with tight drives but would say my favourite holes on the course were the 3rd , 7th for the views , 13th and 14th tho nearly git by someone teeing off behind !

Will return to play again and especially in the summer when course is in full bloom .

Would recommend to any golfer who enjoys course management, picturesque views .

Happy to have played and shot -3

Great course, and not far from Central London

Course was in good knick. Greens have been recently cored, but are running well and will be back to 100% in a few weeks.

Great course and very accessible. Highly recommend
