Shocking for £40

Awful rock hard grassless fairways.

Greens were bobbly and diseased.

Shocking that they charge £40 for a course that has obviously been neglected and no obvious signs of maintenance.

There's better about

The course simply does not drain , still very wet and muddy , greens were looking ok .

Some winter mats still in play and you can't get a tee in them .

It's a shame because it used to be a great course .

Stoneleigh Deer GC with my son

I really had a great time playing with my eldest son.

We both enjoyed the course and found that some of the holes where laid out brilliantly over rivers with some greens on lovely plato’s.

The only grip was there quite a number short pars 3’s with temporary mates not ideal.

Course looks like it could be a good course in summer. No grass around greens, fairways patchy, temporary tees on lots of back 9 holes.

Shoes

This place would not allow a friend of mine and I to play unless you have golf shoes. I have played some of the top golf courses in the world and have never been told what shoes I am to wear. I travel a lot and it is not always convenient to carry golf shoes on the off chance that I get out to play. This was explained to the staff and they would not budge on ther silly, antiquated standard.
