Stoneleigh Deer GC with my son

I really had a great time playing with my eldest son.

We both enjoyed the course and found that some of the holes where laid out brilliantly over rivers with some greens on lovely plato’s.

The only grip was there quite a number short pars 3’s with temporary mates not ideal.

Course looks like it could be a good course in summer. No grass around greens, fairways patchy, temporary tees on lots of back 9 holes.

Shoes

This place would not allow a friend of mine and I to play unless you have golf shoes. I have played some of the top golf courses in the world and have never been told what shoes I am to wear. I travel a lot and it is not always convenient to carry golf shoes on the off chance that I get out to play. This was explained to the staff and they would not budge on ther silly, antiquated standard.

Course in very good condition, greens excellent, and although quite busy , pace of play very good .

Bad point.

After playing , returned to my van to discover some low life scum had attempted to break in. Luckily, they didn’t gain access, but it’s cost me driver door barrel, passenger door barrel and sliding door and handle replacement.

Plus time to fit.

Reported to golf shop, who informed me that another van was attacked on Saturday.

I know it’s nothing to do with the club as unfortunately there are pieces of sh9t everywhere.

Just a heads up.

As I said course was in great condition, and won’t hesitate to play again, but will take car next time!

Poor Greens

Greens were in very poor condition.

Should have reduced green fees in recognition.

Don’t even get me onto the one balls pushing their way through the course….

Very nice course

Really enjoyed this course it was raining on the day but that didn’t dampen our spirits. The greens were under maintenance so that’s the only complaint I could have about the course which cost me 3/4 shots which meant I didn’t break 90 for the first time 😔

But my brother did get his first ever hole in one on the 9th 😊

Friday Pist-Lunchtime Round

We’ve played here a couple of times over the last few years and each time we’ve been impressed by the venue. Busy car park and it looked like the 18-hole course might be very busy as well. But actually most must have been playing the nine hole course as we didn’t see that many out on course…even less on the back nine. Greens were in good condition and fairways nicely cut. Some rough was really quite long and would be really challenging to find a wayward ball.

Very friendly staff throughout. Great value as well through the booking app.

We’ll definitely be returning!
