The course was surprisingly wet and so played quite a bit longer. Our round was negatively impacted by slow play. In fact over the last 3 holes we had the unacceptable situation of a 1 ball holding up a 3 ball and our 2 ball. Why do some players think it’s acceptable to play 4+ hour rounds? They also seem to be the most arrogant!
Quite ling off the whites and very playable off the yellows. All clubs in the bag needed. Some proper par 5's. Accuracy off the tee needed and a good challenge for all levels of golfers. A bit out of the way but great value and a really good set up. Will defintely be back. Course in great condition.
Very enjoyable round!
Not my first time playing here, but first time reviewing it. First round back since Lockdown changed the world and the course is in excellent condition. It's not an easy course to play, if you're wayward off the tee you'll not find many easy ways out of trouble. The Green's were in excellent condition. Can't praise the course enough really, always welcoming. We had nobody behind or in front, so was a nice paced round.
Great value course
Great tree lined course, with good mix of holes. Condition very good overall and excellent value
Good condition, good pace of play - no drinks available at end of day (past lockdown). Overall very good golf course for the money
Lovely Course - good value for money, some stunning holes and very enjoyable round
Course was in good condition despite a downpour in the morning and some standing water
Only gripe was the 3 ball in front absolutely no idea of gold etiquette. Waiting for the hole to completely empty before teeing off makes the whole experience less enjoyable. Not the course fault but certainly annoying
In Great Condition post lockdown
We played here last Decemeber and he course was very muddy and wet. Lockdown has done wonders for the course though and it's in great condition - the greens were wonderful. Good work!
Nice long course
Very good value for money. Long challenging course. Only gripe was with hole signage as was confusing
With Covid restrictions in place we were unable to take advantage of all the facilities at this course but from a golfing perspective it was excellent.
We really enjoyed the course layout and found it to be very well maintained. I thought the undulating fairways provided a few surprises along the way and I am sure that with spring upon us we have yet to see the course looking its best.
All in all I found it to be a very interesting and pleasant course to play and just like Arnold Schwarzenegger might say, “ i’ll be back“
West Berks was in excellent condition considering the time of year and the amount of rain that had fallen that week. It’s long, so testing if you’re a high handicap, but well worth playing as it will only improve you’re game. I play off 24 and would definitely play this course more regularly due to the quality of the conditions and how it will help my game improve.
Enjoyed the course, though some of the greens appear to be suffering with patches of disease apparent.
