Donnington Grove Country Club

I came here on the back of the good reviews but I think perhaps it's been lacking in maintenance recently. I appreciate its been hot but these are the worst greens I've played on this year. Extremely patchy and bumpy and covered in worm casts.

I really liked the layout - very demanding and a long walk - I think you would struggle without a trolley.

Pace was slow - a couple of four balls in front of us who weren't in any hurry. I don't necessarily blame them as it was easy to get a unhelpful bounce in the fairway due to the undulations.

Greens were smooth and fast even thought it was damp too start.

Blown away by how great of a condition this place was. Yes it was wet and a little boggy in places, but where isn’t after this weather. Tee boxes in great conditions and the maintenance team have been working miracles to have the greens playing like that in January, incredible.

Good course, close to Newbury. The course is a very long walk.

Many use buggies. But, if your reasonable fit, it's worth the effort.

My own handicap is 14.8, on MY EG. Off the yellows, I was given two additional shots.

The course and greens was in great condition. It’s a long and tricky course which gives you a good test, especially the bunkers which are well placed.

Recommend a buggy for those who don’t like a walk but great challenge.

Good course but slow play at the weekend, greens were playing fast

It is a great venue—very beautiful with a wonderful atmosphere. All the staff provide exceptional service and assist in every aspect. I will definitely come back, and I encourage everyone to come and play here.❤️❤️

Played here during the summer and would definitely rate as a 5* course all round.

Played yesterday , the weather has been mildly wet but the course was just terrible underfoot , slippery and definitely carry only as electric trolley just kept sliding .

Not recommended in the wet.
