Great little friendly course
Great welcome in club house by staff and very friendly members, nice practice area and awesome driving range,
Course is not too hard but a nice little test especially when I’ve not played for 3 months
Definitely play again.
Cracking Little Course
A smashing little course with great facilities including driving range, pro facilities, practice green and chipping area. Seriously considering joining as a member. Decisions, decisions...
Great Course
Played 9 holes off yellow tees and it was the most enjoyable experience. I liked the option of playing either 9 or 18 holes, which is not an option on most courses.
On arrival the clubhouse staff were very friendly and helpful. There was a great atmosphere in the modern clubhouse with groups enjoying refreshments, a pro shop and a busy (but not full) trackman driving range.
The course was in great condition with solid paths, neat fairways and high quality greens. This is particularly impressive considering the recent long period of wet weather. There were other players on most holes, but all moved well and there were no hold ups. This was a challenging nine holes of golf, with quite a few long par four holes, but there is also a lovely 150 yard par three and three par fours around 350 yards.
When I finished I went back to the clubhouse and had a black coffee which was the best I have ever had. The friendly atmosphere in the clubhouse was still there.
Overall, this was the most enjoyable round of golf on a lovely course that has smart clubhouse with a most pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff, and would recommend every golfer to try it out.
Boggy but play able , nice course and facility’s only second time playing it can’t wait to go back and play it in dryer conditions
Slow play
Booked a 7am tee off time to be told it wasn't open until 8? Wandered down to first hole to be confronted by a woman who was obviously high as a kite pulling her shopping trolley across the fairway.. strange! Held up on every hole by green keepers. Course was in immaculate condition. I played some awful golf but course was great.
Nice surprise
Played course early March
Course very playable
No standing water
Greens really good
Only downside, litter all over the place.
Buyer beware - 9 holes only - the owner doesn't think it's his problem
Go on golfnow, click on the course, and it describes itself as 18 holes, has par info for 18 holes and until you receive a confirmation email, there is nothing to indicate that you are booking 9 holes. When you see a list of available tee times for a day and then if you take the trouble (though because of the above, you might not think you need to do so) to filter '18' holes, the 'hotdeal' remains, available to book. So you book in in good faith and probably dont pay much attention to the confirmation email which says 9 holes. Fair play to golfnow who promptly refunded the hot deal credits and remarked that hotdeals should really only be 18 holes.. Terrible attitude from the owner who was not interested how his course was being misrepresented and wanted to charge us again if going round twice. Even if the fault lies with golfnow (they said they'd look into altering the course info and filter bug), the owner should be the one to take it up with them, not expect a customer to have to plead their case, leave disappointed and bear the cost of the mistake. It would have been simple to just believe what the customer was saying, say crack on and play 18 ( it wasnt busy) and I'll make sure that golfnow sort the issue. I'm sure he'll not care that I wont be returning. He suggested I leave a review.
First timer
Really enjoyed it. For Someone who’s only recently took up golf I really enjoyed it
Really good golf course
9 holes to the quality & standard of an 18. Facilities such as range, putting green & practise area surpass many 18 hole courses by far!
Great course
Other than it being really busy (understandable as it was the 2nd back to being allowed to play golf), the course was great and in fantastic condition.
Great return to golf
Great condition, lovely true greens, friendly welcome- all good as the first golf since lockdown!
Nice Course, Staff So So
I'm never one to leave a review but felt the need to do so for the benefit of the club.
It was my 1st time visiting the course & looking forward to trying somewhere new. The course was good & well maintained with the uphill Par 3 a highlight but the interactions with the member of staff I believe to be called Paul from discussions with other customers left alot to be desired.
Met with disparaging glances from the bar I approached the Pro Shop to pay for my round. Not really greeted or had any desire to converse. Asked if any pens/pencils were available for me to buy as I had forgotten mine, told they were not giving them out. Asked if I could buy one of the sharpies, met with "Its a quid" with a your inconveniencing me now tone. Paid for my sharpie & began my round.
Returned to the clubhouse for a pint afterwards, similar level of interaction when asking for a pint of cider, a simple request you would think. Not told how much & card machine thrust into my general path without as much as a thank you.
I get the feeling this is a tight knit club with not much like for "newbies" which is fine & I appreciate these people are the clubs bread & butter so to speak but compared to other clubs I have been to in the area, the atmosphere is not one I would call welcoming & makes me think twice about revisiting what is a good challenging course to play.
Maybe I caught Paul on a bad day, who knows, but I have always had a leave your problems at the door attitude to work & I suggest he does the same...He might even enjoy it!
Truly a shame as the course is very local to me & great to play but I think I will be looking elsewhere for my next round.
Yes the owner does care yes the owner had made golf now aware on many occasions yes you were aware that you had booked only 9 holes and you tried to chastise and bully a 14 year old work experience boy who calmly asked to see your confirmation email.
Who gets 18 holes round a perfectly manicured golf course for 10 or 12 quid or whatever you paid.
Enjoyed reading your review and glad you won’t be returning.
