Will not be returning

With being members at a club inland we like to travel to the coast to play Whitburn every couple of months. Never again. The man today in the professional shop 29/12/2020 was the most arrogant bloke ive came across.

After paying £24 to play we came at 8.48 and the course was in full frost with all temp greens on which were impossible to putt on so we didnt bother putting. Was chatting to a member passing by the fairways and he said we should ask for our money back as no way we should be paying £24 to play in this.

Afterwards i went to the shop and politely explained that we play here regularly and i usually bring a few lads here as im the one local to the course. I said another member suggested we should ask about something back as the course wasnt any near near playable to the money we paid. He laughed and said no chance. I even suggested could he maybe give us another round for half price as few of the lads had travelled far, in which he said no to that aswell.

Me being a bit surprised at his approach and that i even mentioned to him you know i was even trying to persuade the lads to join before this he then suggested with a smile on his face if we all join now he will refund us our money, to which i replied you have made my mind up i wont be joining now because of your attitude.

Walked away disappointed with the way we were treat and wont be returning because of that, which is a shame as i enjoy the course on a better day and i have put plenty money into it for many years.

Shame about the wind!

The course was in great condition for this time of year. Loved the last 5 holes over the road with sea views all the way around.

Greens were outstanding despite recent bad weather.

A windy start made it a challenge but that doesn’t detract from a great golf course that we will definitely play again soon.

The course was in excellent condition, well worth the money. Stunning views and the wind makes some holes very difficult but still fun. Definately give this a go.

Great day

Paid £24 each on golf now ap. Throughly enjoyed our day. The greens were obviously under maintenance but didn't reduce our enjoyment. Scored 83 wasn't too bad. Beautiful scenery and well laid out. Shortish course but challenging. Hidden gem, we'll be back.

Wow

1st time playing whitburn, wow what a course, not the longest of courses but really enjoyable, greens were having work done but still excellent.

Some excellent holes matched with great views and some very challenging pin placements.

Highley recommended, we will definitely be back..

Great course

Really well kept course in a stunning location, particularly at times. Fast greens and a few well placed hazards to avoid. Course layout was a bit confusing at times and very tight fairways but it certainly didn't spoil the day or cause any real issue.

Windy Challenge

Great course with some quirky holes. Wind can be a challenge but its on the coast so it is to be expected. Fantastic views of the coast from the course. Both staff and members made me feel very welcome. Definitely will play again.

Great course and views but ensure your golf insurance is in place

The holes themselves are great and generally are forgiving off the tee but challenging on the greens. Course was in great condition but could do with some next tee signage in places (4th an example). Views are amazing, especially at both the top and bottom of the course. Most courses involve some sort of trade off and here it is the layout. The reality is the land is not big enough for 18 holes. This results in some holes crossing and on occasions some truely dangerous tee positions (3rd/6th tees and 16th green/17th tee). For this average golfer this is very off putting. Some tee's are also positioned so you are driving over the previous green which helps add to hold ups around the course. In summary a course that would be near the top of my list ..... on a quiet day!

Phil

Myself and friend played this course .. I am not the most confident on a course as haven’t played many but my friend had played many and both were shocked at how tight and dangerous the course felt .. people teeing off straight ahead of you, also behind you, course would possibly be better if was made into a 9 hole, course condition was brilliant fast greens but layout was sorry to say terrible.
