Great little course

Great little course on the door step. Only marked down slightly to reflect the current condition due to essential course maintenance. Still playable thanks to the efforts of green keepers. Luckily doesn’t affect my poor putting skills 😂

winter greens

Winter greens mid season, no notice of this at all until i reached the first green and could not see the pin!

Fairway bunkers full of weeks rock hard. really poor for full price (even though full price is only £22) and would not have played there if i had known about the greens.

Backworth golf club

We found the course in a very nice condition. Very dry after all previous days rain. Only 9 hole course but playing twice. Little wait at half way to start back nine. No club shop and nothing open until 12 mid-day, so difficult to get a buggy, (only 2 available) On the whole not a hard course to walk. Will play again

Lovely course

First time at back worth won't be the last.

The greens were absolutely spot on.... probably best I've played on for a long time

Course is relatively easy, but greens are narrow and well protected which makes it interesting.

Superb value for money!

Early tee at backworth

The course was in great condition. As it was an early start a lot of cutting going on on greens and tee boxes .The ground staff friendly and made every effort to minimize disruption

In all a great round of golf

Good course

Always loved Backworth, course is better now than when I was a member. Down side you can't pay to play 9 holes only. If you want to play 9 holes it's the same price as 18.

AVOID!

Poor course conditions, members were rude and conrontational in the most part, advised they had a members competition and there were no tee timed until after half 12 which was fine as we had booked 12.50. But proceeded to tell us that the course was closed for this reason? Unfortunate that a close so close to my home could leave such a bad impression.

A member also confronted us asking if we had brought our own mats to use in the fairway.. this was not disclosed on golf now as a requirement and the member stated we should go buy one and come back... not sure this would have made much difference as the fairways were not to dissimilar to the rough in parts.

Avoid at all costs unless you are planning on walking on without paying, backworth has no club shop or check in area, doing this would provide good value for money!
