Whitley Bay Golf Club

We played in mid-September on an incredibly windy day, but despite this the course felt a really fun and fair test. The overall condition was excellent despite the recently tined greens, with the course having a hybrid feel of parkland layout with links adjacent turf. Practice facilities looked great with a grass range, although the clubhouse itself is a bit dated, there was a great bar overlooking the course. All round, incredible value on the hot deal, and a course I’d definitely look to play again.

Probably one of the best courses I’ve played. Course is in fantastic condition and immaculately maintained. Absolute bargain price of £22. No easy holes on this course, can’t wait to play again. Bar staff very good after the game as well.

We've played Whitley bay many times with no issues until today. Playing in gale force winds is tough enough but when you add senior citizens members who have no common sense and think they own the course it's becomes extremely frustrating. Two old members refused to let a single chap ahead of us, on a buggy play through which in turn backed us up. Hole after hole we kept getting backed up. Some decency and decorum wouldn't go a miss from the old idiotic members. I'm afraid you get these type of characters in all clubs sadly. Hopefully the club has a word with their stubborn old boys about letting guests or others members play through in their annual AGM!

This course is in mint condition with some scenic holes especially on the back 9

Went out as a four ball my second time playing here,it’s a good test of golf,my three friends who I played with thought it was excellent also,we all will be back again for sure.

Great course but extremely busy as there is only 6mins between Tee times. Played on a Thursday and every Tee we had to wait but it did not spoil it to much as it is a spectacular course.

Booked through GolfNow but be aware if you don’t book a fourball they will put a random person with you, very strange but obviously just to make money.

The course is fantastic and the first hole has got to be one of the best in the North East. Greens are in great condition and are very tricky. With the hot weather the fairways have dried out but it just adds to the course, making it play and look like a links course.

Really enjoyed it here. Greens were brilliant, layout was class. Very enjoyable, challenging course. Would highly recommend. One of the best I’ve played in the area

Friendly staff allowed me play early than my booked tee time! Course in good nick with both fairways and greens in good condition. Great challenge of golf needing good placement if your shot.
