Hillies Golf Course

A surprising little 9 hole hidden away in Wombwell. Definitely deserves the name as a poor shot on the second means getting your climbing gear on and anything other than on the green on the third rolls down the hill into the right. Each hole has its unique features to make it challenging but they’re all short enough that it doesn’t ruin the scorecard. As a relative beginner I really enjoyed it and will be back with some pals before the winter months!

Nice little 9 hole course,we played twice, not the first time we've played here and won't be the last,we flew round today but can be busy.

Was in good nic today and was a pleasure to play.

We’d never played a round before and this was where we decided to play our first. It was a really good course everyone there was happy to let us past or wait when we were struggling a bit more than them. Great course!

The course is ok for a beginner. It’s not much of a challenge if you’re an experienced golfer though. Don’t like that people wearing jeans are allowed to play.

I've played here loads, it's easy to get, cheap enough and not too bad. It needs more work but it's never changed to be fair.

First ever time playing a game of golf went around 11:00 busy but not rushed playing great for first time golfers. Definitely going in the future and amazing staff in the club house was able to easily buy a glove

Great day and nice course. Very boggy at this time of year but expected.

Was a little dissapointed in some players tee'ing off when we was on the fairway but cannot be helped by the course/staff

Lovely little course , very picturesque and still a challenge BUT trolleys are churning up the course after the bad weather and the tee boxes are atrocious tho there are a few mats . The biggest gripe is the pace of play we had to abandon our round due to two groups of mature gentlemen who clearly had all the time in the world to chat and amble around . No intention of letting anyone through and really spoiled our round . I bet it’s lovely in dry weather and would return again but if you play here just hope you don’t get stuck behind the same guys.

The calibre of players here was very much people that had never played golf before. Beer drinking collarless shirts, one guy I witnessed was taking a practice swing and his club flew out of his hands and into a tree. Very slow play I won’t be playing here again and the course was not in a good condition.
